In kingdom hearts 2 and Days in order to let the darkness out and turn into ansem, Riku takes off the blindfold. In bbs, it's possible that Terra fuses with some sort of darkness or dark being and that's when tav starts using the soldier mode. The helmet works like the blindfold and keeps in the darkness but when Terra takes off the helmet and his eyes turn yellow, he could have been transforming and after everything he only remembers 1 thing and that's the 1 name that was in his head.

It might but i doubt it because the real reason riku had the blind fold was because he couldnt bare to see the look on sora's face when he woke up

With tav, you meant Terra, right? .-. And, this is interesting, actually. I'm not sure of the idea of him fusing with some Dark creature or whatnot, but it would be pretty interesting if the armor actually was used similarly to Riku's blindfold for Terra when he strays too far into the Darkness.

Even if not, I'd agree with the possibility of him releasing the Darkness in that scene in a way like Riku had at the end of Days in order to possibly strike back against MX, potentially leading to, as you said, the amnesia.

I'm pretty certain the Blindfold was used to hold back his Darkness to a point where he could control it.

I think that sounds pretty interesting but IMO if some one were to concile their face with a helmit to supress darkness I think it would most likely be Vanitas.

I'd think that Terra wears a helmet for the same reason that Ven and Aqua do. Similar designs, similar purposes.

Nomura did say that the armor does more than just protect the from physical attacks...

I like the unique approach this theory takes. I'm not sure if its true or not, but at least its involves some "outside the box" thinking.

The journal entry for the Lingering Sentiment in KH2:FM states

"The armor covering his body can master the keyblade´s power much more than Sora."

That could be the extra effect of it, though the idea of holding back Darkness and/or keeping it at bay would be a really interesting idea for it, too. o-o

That sounds like its saying its the armour that has the keyblade and not him inside.

That's the quote of the translation. I'm assuming the word "can" is missing from the end of it. It was never officially translated, so that's probably the cause of the silly wording.
