A world inspired by Ellis Ark



There are many places, many worlds and many skies, and in each place there are reasons for life and death whether one chooses to live life to the fullest, or merely sit and wait to die is apparently up to the person living a select life; if they are lucky that is. For many life is not something that is able to be directed where as some are slaves, controlled by others to do a master’s bidding, or possibly bedridden with no choice but to stay home, yet then there is the possibility of those whom don’t have a home. Some have no choice on this matter as they are penniless to have a living space, but others have chosen a mere nomadic lifestyle so that a permanent home is not needed.

In any light, the worlds are full of any number of the above situations again and again and undoubtedly many more that one’s mind might sputter trying to think of. Somewhere out there in comparison to the Earth or Milkyway, maybe beyond even the reaches of mere physical and spiritual space light shines upon a place called Tuurkalumys.

Though normally Tuurkalumys is not in a state of war that is consuming the planet, certain countries have feuds and like in any other place there is hatred among races and past events remain heavy on people’s minds and in their hearts, which with more cause can bring about problems that nobody wants. Technology and magick exist beyond what other places have come up with, or in some cases have no resources to control and the fusion of these two into techomagick and other energies that can make the world go round. Now Tuurkalumys is a diverse place from most standards as there are a phenomenal amount of creatures and combinations of these creatures that live, exist, and even coexist together with no problems, but there ARE still of course some problems.

Something has to make the world go round and on Tuurkalumys it’s a force called Essence. It could be considered a substance, but essence is more of an existence than anything else. It is known as the very core, the life if you will; of Tuurkalumys itself. This stuff isn’t just energy, or force, or power, but it is what makes everything tick. Everything has essence no matter how minuscule the amount. Essence is just as important to the body as blood, or the need in a lot of creatures to breathe air. Everything has essence inside it and it doesn’t matter if it is a piece of cheese, or a giant six headed snail(yes these do exist). There are those whom only have the small amounts needed to stay alive and live normally, but those with surplus manage to obtain extraordinary abilities that may spawn from nature or forms of magick, but whatever comes with it, those with power are not always responsible. Even animals at times have powers that can outmatch a normal person at anytime, and in some cases even weaponry that is used against a life form with special essence induced properties.

With all that said, Tuurkalumys is all well and good, but there is a lot that goes on behind closed doors, and for the past few years, experimentation has been on the rise along with journeys into a rediscovered area that had been somewhat lost after a cataclysm many years prior. Essence in this area known as Merr is off the charts and most machinery does not work there and the continents are more interested in that than the government’s well doing, or so it seems.

Hell this is an rp about a world filled with terrors and wonders. Both life and death has its complications and the like so in any case, reveal your character to this world in all their glory. The question is what plans do your characters have for this world and it's secrets, and how do you plan to do it??(Yes a lot will happen. No this is not literally a sandbox rp.)

Feel free to have epic powers via your Essence Ability. Things will get quite intense in the rp at some point. I'm also for the method of developing your essence to create greater abilities as time passes. Just keep it legit.Giggles

Arg, you're in. Nicely done. I needn't be wary of your "sleeping ability" eh?? xD

I'd let you take the Fortain Leader spot, but last night I got a PM for the completed FL spot. If you'd like you can make the YL, as can anyone else. First come first serve basically. Leader roles do require suffient information about how your OC became leader AND sufficient Essence Abilities as a leader would have.

Race: Epsilonian

With what little information that has been extracted from Fiora, the various researchers belonging within Torasha have discovered few clues as to Fi's race.

The people of Epsilon are inhumanly tall and slender and their skin is a vibrant light orange that almost shines under the light of their two orbiting moons. Their hair is very thin and wispy and eyes the size of a handball. Despite no obvious signs of reproduction organs, including female breasts, Epsilonians bare a striking resemblance to Human anatomy. With ears, noses, bone structure (not including hips), a pair of arms and legs with the correct number of fingers and toes it is thought that the Epsilonian's are distant relatives of the Human race.

They are a passive race, mostly keeping to themselves and are suspected to live about ten Human life cycles and age considerably slower. They are gentle, kind and respectful to all life forms having been able to understand life's preciousness within the universe. Technologically, they are far more advanced than most species however rarely do they rely upon it for any given reason.

Place of Birth: Epsilon, lives currently in Torasha.

Essence Ability:
Fiora has overwhelming control over Essence.

Animatis
(literally 'to animate') -
Being a part of a race that highly values life and all it's eccentricities it was only natural that Fiora develop an Essence ability that revolved around creating and preserving life. With physical contact Fiora is capable of animating any object and, depending on varying factors (i.e. size and type of object, level of intelligence ect), Fiora is able to create cognizant objects that would otherwise be inanimate.

However, this ability requires a considerable amount of Fiora's own energy (or Essence, if you will) and she must be able to meet at least a quarter of the Essence essential to animate the object from her own source before acquiring the rest of the Essence necessary from other supplies. This initially means that while Fiora is animating an object, once again depending on the different factors, certain areas of her other abilities and/or skills are negatively affected, often causing weaknesses to arise, and can also cause physical exhaustion.

Extrahi (literally 'to extract') -
With the ability to give life, comes the ability to take it away and Fiora is not shy when it comes to this. Upon physical contact with any living entity (plants, creatures, people ect.) she is able to extract the Essence from within. The amount of Essence available to her truly depends on the amount of Essennce that the entity holds as there is no limit to as much as she can drain. However, there is a limit to the amount of Essence that she can contain before returning it, or placing it within another entity or object.

Everything contains a certain level of Essence, it is common knowledge, and, in that respect, everything has a limit to the amount of Essence it can hold. The same rule applies to Fiora despite her abilities and the sheer force of the excess Essence alone is capable of crushing her insides, ultimately resulting in death if held onto for too long. By transferring the overflow of Essence to another entity or object within a certain amount of given time, Fiora negates these debilitating consequences and can continue on normally.

The above being an extreme example; usually for small extractions Fiora can expect mild headaches and lethargy if the transfer is not made within time.

Figere (literally 'to fix') -
With exception of healing the permanent side effects of Extrahi, Fiora is capable of healing not only herself, but others with the use of Essence. Figere is also the only ability within Fiora's arsenal that revokes Extrahi's and Animatis' limitations. This means that none of Fiora's personal supply of Essence is used and the excess Essence absorbed into her body upon healing herself does not cause her harm.

To perform this specific ability Fiora does have a choice whether to use her own Essence or extract the Essence needed from another source and, once again, physical contact is a must for this ability to work.

Dominari (literally 'to dominate') -
A master puppeteer of all things made with Essence, Fiora's Dominari is an ability that works on a telekinetic level. By utilizing the Essence within the object or entity of her choosing she is able to control its actions with her thoughts and wishes alone. Volunteers that have been subjected to this ability report feeling an outside force moving their muscles and limbs even against their best efforts to resist; as if they were puppets attached to invisible strings.

High mental fortitude appears to be the best defense against this invasive ability; the weaker your mentality is, the easier you are to be dominated. However, with Fiora's impressive level of intelligence, finding somebody capable of withstanding all of her Dominari's will has so far been a rare occurrence. Dominari is an ability that feels more natural than any other ability in Fiora's skill set and is therefore only used for situations she deems worthy of her absolute control.

Appearance:
When it is discovered that Fiora (<--- link) is indeed not Human shock and disbelief usually follow. Due to her Vivere
, Fiora subconsciously developed a human appearance gradually since arriving on Tuurkalumys twenty-two years ago and has just about as much choice over her image as almost any other creature: absolutely none. In fact, it has been proven that Fiora's body is incapable of any physical change that is due to her choice or actions. For example her weight can not change by her eating or exercise habits or even sheer force of will; she is perpetually frozen in this state until her subconscious changes otherwise (more on Vivere in the Skills section).

Fiora's long, lean legs leave her standing at 5'6 with a tempting pale hourglass figure coveted by many woman alike and a generously sized bust. Her jet black hair falls in straight layers reaching just below her shoulders and, with exception of the bangs that shape her angular chin and high cheekbones, is worn in a messy high ponytail. Her full lips and dainty nose rest below shockingly violet colored eyes and her overall appearance exudes an almost sensual maturity that her personality can sometimes lack.

Denji Aru Koto (Electromagnetic Being)

Electromagnetic Beings are aliens that arrived upon the meteorite that crashed into Fortainia and have been the backbone for its creation for many years. Unlike humans, these beings are connected to the EM Spectrum to which their souls are completely composed from it. By this standard they essentially energy beings that must live through a human-like shell until their powers have matured enough. Many can assume their true form for only a short time when their abilities are strong enough. While in human forms, Denji Aru Koto possess the same human organs of reproduction in order to keep their race going. Beyond that factor they are nourished by their energies and only need to sleep to keep up their mental sanity.

Personality:

Vandesdelca shows two rather contradictory sides of his personality which has led many to think that he might be bipolar and suffers from manic episodes. Vandesdelca stays completely calm and in control in most situations, and he is not easily surprised or caught off-guard. He is also highly perceptive, cunning, and analytical. He is highly level headed at most times and can make highly well thought and logical decisions. He is rather aloof, brooding, and indifferent, willing to harm both his comrades and enemies should they ever get in his way. But unlike most people's perception of him, he is not particularly violent and will only fight when provoked or when he thinks he it is the only choice. He is very much a Nihilist, believing that existence other then his own has no objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value. He believes that only the physical laws contributed to our existence. With respect to the universe and his ultimate goals, an entire species is insignificant, without purpose and is not likely to change in the totality of existence. Strangely, Vandesdelca does seem to show some concern for his friends and comrades.

He is highly resourceful, full of determination and possesses a certain disregard for rules. His strong-willed stubbornness can sometimes get in trouble as when he refuses to back down no matter what the situation. He lives his life by his own rules and has learned to ignore what other people think of him. In this reference he can be stubborn and willful about his personal opinions, sticking with his views no matter what everyone else might say.

When Vandesdelca suffers from one of his manic episodes, he becomes an entirely different person, much more cold, callous, and dispassionate. At such times he is an exceedingly brooding and angry man, almost totally consumed by the ultimate goal of utter destruction and death. He fashions himself an agent of divine punishment and takes out his fury on any and all who stand in his way. He almost seeks out fights and it matters not who it is he faces. He is extremely cynical and cold-hearted and lacks almost any code of honor and does not see the point in offering those who are about to die a chance of dying honorably. He refers to trust and faith in others as idiotic notions and looks down on people who uphold such beliefs. He goes so far as to mock those who fight for others, making their defeats to him all the more harsh. He derives amusement and gratification from inflicting physical and emotional pain on others, making him a typical sadist.

All in all he becomes extremely rude and lecherous and treats everyone in a highly sick and perverted manner. At such times his overall goal is to prove himself to be the greatest and strongest and does not wish to waste his time killing those he dubs "weak". However, he has no qualms in attacking stronger opponents who are already injured stating that their handicap is due to their own weakness. His insatiable bloodlust and hunger for battle make him a highly dangerous and unpredictable opponent. On many instances his manic episodes are brought about by his over usage of his abilities though on many occasions these episodes occur when he looses his temper or sometimes at completely random instances.

Oh lastly, never call him Van. It is an insult to him. An insult that had led to many deaths.

Skills:

Expert Marksman - He possesses very keen eyesight, and his accuracy is virtually unerring; he was trained in his youth with throwing blades, and guns. He now has near-perfect precision with any aimed or thrown weapon.

Skilled Leader - Having become leader of Frotain in the past three years, Vandesdelca has shown to be an outstanding leader. His strategies have held off many invaders and kept the economy of his land at an all time high. Even with his personality, Vandesdelca’s men have not betrayed him once since the first year of his reign.

Advanced Science - Having spent many years studying Fortain, Vandesdelca has come to become a genius in advanced science to the point of creating various robots, improving Vandesdelca's defenses, and creating a miniature railgun.

Armaments:

Zeus - Zeus is a revolver created from a super rare alloy known as Orichalcum with a chasis that can block incoming attacks and reflect laser/laser-like attacks by using the side of the gun like a mirror. Most notable is the alloy allows Vandesdelca to channel his electromagnetic abilities into the gun. Storing his electricity within the gun is far more destructive as it allows him to fire off the Railgun(Super Electromagnetic Cannon) 4 times a day. Vandesdelca's railgun has a muzzle velocity of 1030 m/s (2307.2 mph).

Vandesdelca also has a number of special bullets (burst, freezing, crying and tranquilizing bullets).

So she can animate anything and everything, basically bringing everything and anything to life and then control these objects?? It doesn't seem to drain her at all and she doesn't even need to use much of her own essence to do it?? She can merely use other sources?? No go for me. I want specifics on the animation and possible levels of sentience these objects have. I also want more obvious drawbacks for usage and so on. Do you know how serious the ability to give life to things is??

Extrahi (literally 'to extract') -
So this is cool, I'll assume that you'll be applying other characters powers to this extraction or will be aware of people's own control?? IE: Getting blasted away by somebody not wanting to get drained and so on. If this is an ability to extract essence as you say, how is she able to divvy out the essence into other objects and in what way?? I wrote essence as the overall nature of existence itself. Essence is NOT energy. I already made this clear.

Figere (literally 'to fix') -
This checks out. It's odd she doesn't use her own forces to heal but rather takes it from other sources. As with your other abilities you don't mention the extent of this ability or put any type of limit or strain from healing larger wounds and so on. I mean I made the Leader of Zero Ark and King Naruto the Fortain Leader and WE have limits. If not for that we'd be destroying planets.

Dominari (literally 'to dominate') -
Another ability where she randomly control's other people's essences flawlessly, not taking into account their souls, or right to resistance. If she just manipulates essence inside people and can control them in any way this isn't an ability I'm willing to accept. Even more, as usual she can do this without strain or even focus/trying. I'm also wondering if this extends to her using any ability the person has.

Oh gosh. I'm really sorry! I actually thought I'd been to strict on her and she was the weakest out of the already stated abilities in the RP. I'll certainly take what you've said into serious consideration and get to stomping on all this power she appears to have. Sorry again.

EDIT: Well, this is harder than I thought. I may have to back out of this one.

You mean to tell me that "nerfing" is an unfamiliar process to you?? Just add more limits or less capabilities. You should be able to explain the processes your abilities entail. If need be, PM me, I'd be glad to help out in any way possible.

Well...Arg...your newer character sorta creeps me out but she is pretty original and unique in that regard. I must say that I'm afraid to meet her and she happens to get the upper hand on Van or get him into a position (no pun intended) that he can't deal with quickly. Might have to keep that little girl back as far as Van can shoot her. P.S. That is pretty damn far. xD

Essence Ability:

Mancery - A long thought to be forgotten art practiced in days long since forgotten. Mancery is the active practice and application of magic into a myriad of schools, flowing into many different disciplines. Wolf has arguably mastered them all flawlessly with his age to reflect on at least twenty or more years of dedicated practice to each individual school. Wolf is able to use basic elemental class magic which is often his most used, in most cases he would need to conjure the missing element if it is not already present, the opposite is when the product to be manipulated or expanded upon is already there.

Pseudo-Space Heart-Wolf was born without a heart, though oddly not without compassion. This endless nothing leads and ties to a different form of null-space where matter doesn't linger in between his breast. There appears to be a layer around his heart that serves as a line between the reality, which has kept him from being disintegrated into a matter-less husk. When he presses his hand against his chest, he's able to briefly de-localize himself and switch places with his heart, creating a miniature area of effect that instantly and viciously de-atomizes everything within the radius of a football field maximum length, the minimum is that of a five meters.

Passive Density Defense Apparatus- When Wolf's sense are alerted to danger, his skin immediately petrifies and hardens in an instant. The volume of his skin becomes strengthened to a point where he can weather a fair amount of damage, however his weight increases simultaneously limiting his ability to move, thus when defending he tends to wait for an opening before willingly lowering his defenses to counter-attack.

Appearance: Wolf is an age old man, with a surprisingly youthful appearance. His build is a strong one, his back and body are in top form. His old leather, robings, and attire overall appear to be the remains of his mancery teachings. He adorns a scarf that covers his face that shrouds what he looks behind it in complete mystery.

Personality:

He is a noble and admirable man, that possess no form or manner of hatred within the entirety of his mind, emotion, and body. His exploits of chivalry, loyalty, and as a humble man very much feed into the impression of a man with great conviction. To oath and with couth to whomever he folds an allegiance to, they are as brother and blood to him. Wolf has an incredibly open-minded and very polite mannerism, his etiquette and politeness complement his good heart and willful intentions. His only aggressive button is against hostiles and pious blasphemers that stand to refute his brother's reign.

Wolf is of age, and his mind is seasoned to reflect a deep connection to every relation. His wisdom is pretty spot on, and he doesn't mind having deep and meaningful conversations with his comrades.


Skills:

Cumulative Intelligence & Memory - His intelligence, like what is assumed of humans is constantly increasing. His is fascinatingly sharp and can recall even his infant memories, which, by normal standards is deemed impossible.

Deep Emotional Connection - His power to connect with people and persuade others is almost as engaging and overwhelming as it is enigmatic to attempt to delve into and understand its nature.

Soul Manipulation - His very first forbidden Art of Mancery unrecognized by his fellow mancers that proved to be their downfall. Wermacht has trained to manipulate things that exist along the Incarnum scale. Extraction and manipulation of souls to suit his purposes.

Armaments:

Wolf is skilled with every form of weapon, medieval or otherwise, though he carries basic assassination tools, a hidden handgun, as well as a concealed dagger. His arms are wrapped up tight, and with tough leather to be used as Cestus complemented by his bracelets.

Hitsun&Loviembre - These are his golden bracelets worn on each of his arms, easily weighing about 10 kilograms each. They possesses two key qualities, the first is their ability to auto-concentrate and focus the user's essence, to require nigh little mental aptitude and focus when casting. This enables the user to immediately counter attack with no lag in between releasing essence. The cost however comes at allowing allowing use of certain tiers of spells, the bracelets act as limiters to the user and additionally should they be removed, they loose the auto-focus skill, but are able to apply more advanced and higher tier spells to their own benefit.

The second quality of the bracelets is their ability to literally transform and morph themselves into any weapon the user can fathom. This is invaluable midst perilous situations, even used to escaped something such as a cage or containment. One important note, is that the bracelets themselves can ONLY be removed by the user him/herself.

Biography: Wolf was born in a different time period, reluctant to address the full nature of his origin as even he still doesn't quite fully understand this. He did however come up and grow into a much more different world than the one that stands today, well before the continent was given an identification. (or possibly he was on a different continent altogether) To wolf what is transparent was that he was a manufactured infant, stabilized and constructed by a long dead tribe of mancers. His body was unique, his aptitude for foreign things against him in a way nurture and saturate his form.

In the years, this child Wolf possessed a unique form of aging. It appeared that he aged at about a turtle's crawl compared to the normal human life. The mancers had been alerted to the one thing that was unusual about their native son "Wolf", that he'd been born without a heart to spare, a single very de-stabilized yet contained devoid clutched in the space where his heart lay. This was a dangerous weapon, yet a curse to Wolf should he disobey the cult of mancers would collapse the protective layer around his heart and he would implode into the devoid.

They had named this piece of rock, Merr. It was unclear the location, but the air around the entire rim of the areas were thickly saturated more so than others. The fellow mancers in the years they'd protected the continent itself and secluded themselves always gravely feared discovery. However, when mastering conjuring, Wolf gained the power to create material and over time began to experiment with structures. His mancer tribe grew to some length, suspicious, but lets these acts proceed as he would be their successor one day.

Soon into the years as he'd trained diligently with his tribe, he'd commited so many years, easily 3 centuries, refining his prowess, wisdom, and experiences in refining all aspects of his mancery and magic contextualized history. Wolf was the product of the mancer's tribe, as the locations around them were becoming less indigenous and recluse, the civilizations around their mere forestry and menial surrounds were becoming exposed. The mancers naturally,as a gut reaction attempted an infailable feat. To sink Merr into the depths of the earth and conceal their vast landmass from the world. Wolf didn't want to see such a thing come to pass and he did...well the unthinkable. He'd called upon a school of magic through his mancery that not even his bretheren were aware of, taking a tap to his spine, his vertabrate broke into seven conic sections. Along his back they lit up, and he'd scattered pieces of his soul into those bone fragments, the sections were copied and from that he constructed his "children" using pieces of his own power.

Onen. Towe. Theres.Ourfen. Ivin. Seta. Svether.

Seven vertebrates, seven children, that were initially hollow and needed to be refined. He manipulated a new form of mancery, directly relating to the soul. And had absolved the souls of his mancer tribe, the seven other members, into the shells of his "children." The continent went no such place, but remained in its place. When his wards began to animate, combined with one specific trait a piece. They took on their own, but always were apart of their father.

The time had only evolved and with it so do the man that Wolf was becoming. He'd watched the construction of many cities and the prosperity of civilizations rise from the sticks and dirt of society. With the help of his children they rose Merr to be a prominent location, it was known for its simplicity. Agricultural resources, unique species of animals both domestic and non, rare minerals and ore, and bountiful food supply and estranged atmosphere. Merr is very, RURAL to say the least, the technology on to be found its three major cities are fairly limited. It's traffic with the neighboring power-houses Fortain and Zero Ark were steady. Many of their electrical-engineers and constructive manpower are a main reason as to how the cities were built and how quickly they populated in the last three centuries.

Wermacht sits at the capital city of Omice, his ward Svether never leaves his side.

Because he is an "Essence Composite-Being" when he dies, he is able to pass his strength and abilities onto to a vassal of his choosing. In a way, this is how he is reborn, a piece of his soul lingers in his powers, and the person whom is his successor will automatically know how to use his abilities, and of his past.

Omice - Is the Capital City of Merr and the leading area that entices the most traffic. Here a number of different hydro-electric plants are found, with cityscape for only about half of the actual area's size. The irrigation systems alone are an achievement and reason why Merr is visited, for the freshest water on any of the other areas. On its outskirts the houses and buildings are much further apart, namely due to farmland and patches of forests. Recently, communication and regular trafficing was put to a complete stop for reasons unknown.

Nautal - A decent sized city, run by three of Wermacht's wards. The area is relatively moderate in size, nearly all the buildings are roughly two stories in height, nothing specutacular to look at. Man of their educational facilities and hospitals in the area have been accompanied by some of Zero Ark's finests. They put a lot of time into building their town into a community that is relatively small and close-knit, needless to say all of the residents know each other respectively or practice a very humble air around. The entire area is surrounded by forestss, namely a special kind of tree only found in Natal. They bare an invaluable fruit that only grows once a year, its said to be able to detox poisons and unwanted oxidants and acids from he body, no one knows if this is true or not.
