the subject of Star Fox was brought up the KH4 news thread and i noticed we got no star fox thread. so i'm taking on myself to make one.

this thread is about everything Star Fox related. from the games themselves to the rare Nintendo power comics and even works done by the fans. in the past Star Fox hasn't gotten much love since Star Fox Zero. while i could write a list of things it could improve on, i still think it was a good game. plus we finally got the long lost Star Fox 2 game that never got released.

so to any Star Fox fans on this forum, if you wanna talk about Star Fox, its future, or anything else about it, this thread is for you.

I'll level with you Cy, I know little about Star Fox, but I think Star Fox Adventures is a good game, if only by virtue of it being the furthest thing from a true Star Fox game. It's hilarious when Tricky says "let's play" in an area surrounded by Lava or dangerous animals, but doesn't get irritating like when Pinocchio is stuck in the parasite cage in KH1. If any Star Fox game deserves to be on the switch, it's that one.

I remember playing Star Fox command on my DS ages ago and enjoying it quite a bit. Never touched another Star Fox game since.

Would you recommend the SNES game or should I just jump straight into 64?

Well SF2 is the precursor to SFC in terms of a map screen where you gotta protect a target. The SNES games are a separate continuity from later titles however. SF64 was basically a remake/reboot of SF1 & subsequent games (Adventures, Assault, Command) followed 64 canon-wise.

speaking of the 64 timeline, someone has been working on a Freespace 2 mod call Star Fox Event Horizon.

i've been keeping tabs on this one for a while and its incredible. its a retelling the whole Star Fox 64 & subsequent games with some original bits thrown here and there. they even got the original voice actress for Krystal, as well as the original voice actor who did Bill Grey and Wolf O'Donnell. i recommend giving it a watch.

Gets bonus points for working in Fara Phoenix from the Nintendo Power comic even if she gets unceremoniously killed off, that's like seeing a Sonic fan game with Sally in it or Star Wars anything with with Mara Jade and/or Jaina Solo.

for the record i wasn't happy about that particular scene either, though i did love that they gave her aussie accent however.
though it would make sense story wise as Fox would meet Krystal later on

I mean, it's not like Fox & Krystal HAVE to get together, especially if they were to add Sabre from Dinosaur Planet & have him be Krystal's love interest as originally intended.

But yeah, once Estelle Ellis came onboard, of course they're gonna wanna get their money's worth out of Krystal by that point.
