The whole thing is a mess, honestly. I'm going to firmly believe it's still going to be edited, because KH has never put out half assed HQ CGI before.

If we finally get 1 on a current gen HOME console b4 they die out, than yes. If only on next gens 1s, than even better.

Unless it's the Wii, cuz, well, that's about the same graphics as the PS2. The graphics will astound you my a** Iwata, bet you were comparing it 2 the GCN...

You know, I personally like the CGI I've seen. I'm not saying it shouldn't be cleaned up a bit (you're right about the lighting), but personally I like the look better than KH2's CGI. It reminds me more of the simplicity of KH1's. I always thought KH2's looked TOO detailed and the contrast between in-game models and the CGI high-quality ones was far too great. Not to mention characters like Donald and Goofy look... REALLY odd in high-quality graphics. I think the detail that's there now is fine, not too much and not too little.

Agreed. I really like what I'm seeing I feel the the CGI actually mimics the actual art style of the game instead of just trying to make everything as realistic as possible.

I think the biggest problem is the lighting first and foremost because I think there is significant shadow that takes out the glimmer in her eyes. I don't like how her head looks so odd, but I think I like Kairi because the less detail makes her look more like a cartoon which fits in with the Disney characters more.

Most of the CGI has been fine; Sora looks good, Xion looked fantastic, Roxas was good, Riku was fine, Xehanort was sub-par, Axel was alright but nothing amazing, and Namine was fine.
Donald and Goofy look fine in HQ. I like them better in the in-game graphics, but that's because it feels more comfortable. I mean, they're anthropomorphic characters though, obviously they're not going to look that natural standing next to a human characters with a ton of detail anyway.

The point is really that the 3DS is supposed to at least match the PSP and I believe the promise was that it would exceed the Wii. I believe it was mentioned that it would also have graphics similar to what the 360 could put out, and while when compared to the DS... it is quite impressive, if this is the limit of the 3DS' CGI capabilities, then I'm disappointed.

I'm going to try and not worry due to the fact this is an uncompleted game, but I'm surprised that you guys complacent with the HQ graphics. I think the in-game ones are fabulous, but I still think the HQ could use a bit of work. But, opinions are opinions.

I just don't think they added the glimmer to her eyes at all. The less detail does not help anything fit in... it sticks out when compared to every other game, even KH1.

I dunno why everyone ones hatin on kairi I though it looked better than before. You guys kept sayin her eyes are messed up. I could see slightly but I never noticed it. I was more looking at the complexity of her skin

I'm one of the people that actually likes Kairi as a character, and I have never disliked her. I also adore her character design in KH1 and 2... so if I think her CGI is atrocious, then it really is.

They remind me of figurines, actually... especially Kairi. They're kinda... lifeless, I guess is the word... I'd prefer it wasn't like that for the whole game. I don't think the whole game would be CGI, since programming that would be difficult, and it'd look kind of weird, in my opinion.

Maybe the point was to make them look like figures or chess pieces since when they introduce us to DI in the trailer, you can see Kairi and Riku chasing each other in the form of pop-up paper. So maybe it is trying to bring the book to life and in that scene, the people are supposed to look like figures.

I think that's why it's done that way, too. To match the storybook motif. I just don't think I'd want a whole game that way unless it all took place in a storybook or something similar.

I'm pretty sure the book represents Jimminy's Journal, along with all of the pages flying about throughout the whole CGI segment.

I also agree with that...there is no other book that they could have used, and since Jiminy's journal has been with them forever, it makes sense that the opening which sums up most of the past games would be from a source that chronicled everything.
