Spanish vs. French

Obviously, I'm talking about the languages. Which language do you think is more beneficial, Spanish or French? I say Spanish because of the mass amounts of Mexicans crossing the border into the US. If you speak Spanish, you won't end up looking like a jackass in front of them if you get into a conversation. Spanish > French.

lol I totally agree with you. At my school I could either take Spanish or French and I took Spanish because of the reason you mentioned.

french is alright, but i like spanish better. im taking spanish but ive been to mexico and france and i liked mexico better. and like you said, all of those mexicans in the u.s. can be beneficial if you can speak the language. higher paycheck also ftw.

Right as usual, Spanish is the way to go. I'm taking it currently, and it is WAY more beneficial than French.

I never bothered to learn French, it's just so pointless unless you plan on moving to France.

I don't know, Spanish seems a little....bad in sound, and a little....tossed-together feeling, french is more beneficial in my opinion. I perfer to take French rather than Spanish

While it's true that Spanish sounds a little, mixed together, it's still easier to understand. Many Spanish words sound almost identically to English words. Example: interesante = interesting. inteligente = intelligent.

Yeah thats what bothers me.....I'm learning Japanese though, now THAT is a language you want to learn
Lol yesturday, coming back from Academic Decatholon Scrimage, our van stops at a sonic for food, I pretended to act like a foriegner and order in japanese, I won't go into detail, but it was the funniest thing ever

I intend on learning Japanese eventually. THAT is one of the most beneficial languages out there.

^^^^^is learning Japanese that beneficial? yeah it would be cool but there are so many mexicans in america as of now. aren't they the most dominant here also? many people in the u.s. and the mexicans speak spanish. its nice to learn spanish because if you are bilingual, your paycheck increases and you can have so many people come for your help if you are a doctor, lawyer, etc. mexico is also a really cool place, i went down there over the summer and i had a awesome time with friends and such. and how many people speak japanese in the u.s? i would imagine there are quite a few and there are the japanese pll, but we are overrun by mexicans. also, there are so many countries that have there official language as spanish and how many countries have their official language as japanese? well w/e, i think japanese would be cool but i think spanish is more beneficial.

I believe many of our imports come from Japan. The gaming industry is basically made up of Japanese people. Japanese is the second most beneficial language, IMO. Spanish is the first.

^^yeah, but thats mostly our electronics and such. we probably get a lot more imports from china, mexico, thailand, and india like clothing and many other supplies.
