This is a strange debate for many reasons.
Both shows are very funny, yet...
Family Guy's comedy is derived from randomization and flashbacks of funny things that have happened before hand. This style can get very repetitive and old. Also, every episode starts out with a initial conflict that leads into the real conflict of the episode in a random and slightly moronic way. Alliteration aside, this is a very funny show that is quite good at the least.
South Park's comedy is derived from, racism, sterotypes, and crude/disgusting events. It is funny and many viewers find this sterotypical and filthy comedy to be unimaginably hilarious, while others see it as a idiotic, pointless, and rude show, that isn't funny. Although not all showings have these nasty themes, the majority are of the latter. Still this is a funny show that is enjoyed by the current youth, for its sickenly funny episodes.
I would have to say that Family Guy is better, because it can be funny and appeal to most of the population with out bringing strong references of violence, sex, drugs, consistant cursing, and filthy storylines into the episodes.
