for everyone who is saying it's just a badass weapon riku had or that it was from the darkness in his heart, think back to the 2ND form of Souleater. Two people have used it. The first was Riku. The second, and this is what people forgot, ANSEM(Xehanort's Heartless) used it as well. Anyone remember the staff with a Souleater on each end?

This brings me to another point about Riku and Ansem. Using a Keyblade depends on the spirit/heart of a person, correct? Well, if you think about, Ansem(XH) used a Keyblade. He may have been in Riku's body, but it was his soul/spirit/heart that was weilding the Unlocking Keyblade. Just a guess, but I'm sure that would put Ansem(XH) as a Keyblader. It only makes sense, if a Nobody can use a Keyblade, why can't a Heartless?

it held its own twice against Sora and his Keyblade
in KH the first Riku fight he was using it after he lost the kingdom key
and then in LoD the second time
so i dont think so
plus their is a keychain at the bottom so it is a keyblade
and as for it turned into the Way to the Dawn, the worlds might have given him that keychain and he just switched the keychains

he wasnt possesed by ansem in KH2 but he still used it
it was only when he was in darkness that it came
which was why he didnt use it against roxas during their fight in TWTNW

It may also be noted that Ansem (Heartless) uses the SoulEater, or at least a version of it, with an eye on it. Does this show a connection... ...

They are keyblades, yes. And they both have keychains.

Wrong. Nomura confirmed that it did indeed transform.

VI - Could you please give an explanation for the new keyblade "Way to the Dawn" that Riku obtained and the keyblade Kairi has as well as what the conditions for using a keyblade are?

There isn't necessarily one keyblade for the dark side and one for the light side, just as many as there exist people with qualified hearts. Concerning the conditions to wield one, at this stage, "Those with strong hearts" is the only obvious one. However, less obvious conditions still exist and there are still plans for an opportunity to reveal those. Riku's "Way to the Dawn" and Kairi's keyblade are naturally the same type of keyblade as Sora's. However there is no particular explanation for the Soul Eater's transfer and occurrence, as well as Riku's handing it to Kairi. When there isn't a normal process of acquisition, I think its ok to think there is some deeper meaning there.

And it was quite obvious to me even without his word. Do you think the fact that they look so alike is a coincidence?

as weve seen in the SE, Way to Dawn was their, not Soul Eater.

Riku might have received Way to Dawn after Land of Dragons just like Sora received Kingdom Key in Destiny Islands.

Lol, no. Nomura confirmed that they transformed. Way to the Dawn and Soul Eater are the same thing. End of story.

he did get soul eater from maleficent so considering shes a witch it could mean soul eater is more then just an ordinary weapon

The souL eateR is a keybLade. The Way To DawN and the souL eateR are the same. when Riku equips the Heartless keychain the souL eateR Transforms to The Way To DawN.

Example: Kingdom KeY, equip kairi's Lucky CharM and you get the OathkeepeR. if you equip the Dark CrowN the Keyblade Transforms to ObliVioN.


Simple... Hades DragoN i thought you wouLd know about the Keyblade and the Keychain.

Whats the diffrence betweeN the souL eateR and The Way To DawN? I don't c any, the only thing changed on The Way To DawN is that it has a heartless keychain and it's got WinGs.

they are the same weapon
but riku just hadnt gotten used to calling it the Way to the Dawn yet
so he still called it soul eater
soul was the first stage of WtD
and then it transformed

it seems like he got it to transform while he was in the TWTNW
but i dont think its a keyblade of light
i think its either dark or twilight
and what i mean by that is that is is a mixture of light and dark
but i think it'd be twilight
because the SOul eater was a weapon of darkness
so i doubt it could be 100% light
but i doubt its complete darkness either because riku wasnt controlled by the darkness anymore
