Something I fear for in ReCoded

So, the original Coded was made for the cell phone and released in episodic downloads, meaning that you'd get a little fragment of this, and then a little bit later you'd get the next fragment, and so on.

The only thing that worries me for ReCoded is that the game might actually become boring after playing for a bit. For the cell phone, the game would be split up, making it somewhat exciting and have some cliffhangers to it.

Kingdom Hearts I, II, and all the others worked with just having one full game because that's how it was originally made. To be one full game, and so you could (if one had the time), play start to end. And with ReCoded, it seems to me that Nomura (hopefully he didn't) and the team that made the game may have simply connect the different episodes, leaving the game a bit weird to play through and having a lower value than the others.

Of course, this may be the complete opposite. But, just my worries for the game.

I think that's a completely legitimate worry. We just have pray and hope it doesn't turn out that way. Even if it does end up being like that installments still have to flow together.

Well Nomura DOES think of the DS as the typical hand-held device, made so you just play like one quest/mission at a time while bored or something like that. That's at least what he had in mind for 358/2 Days.

Hahaha...Nomura made a bad choice on that. I got bored enough to never pick the game up since I played it the month it came out.




I'm a bit worried about that as well...

Hopefully the game was paced right to make sure you don't get bored. D: If not...oh well.

I can see them smoothing the cutscenes together so that they reach a climax in the middle rather than having a cliffhanger leading into another cutscene.

It would end up kind of like KHII; relevant world, cutscene, unrelated world, cutscene, unrelated world, cutscene, unrelated world, cutscene, relevant world, cutscene.

They are definitely going to have to add in major changes if this game is going to work :)
But the Kingdom Hearts Games are already so beautifully made I'm sure they'll make it work!

I don't want to get bored but I don't want to breeze throught the game fast either

I think you have nothing to worry about in that aspect. I'm sure Nomura isn't as dumb as to leave the game fast-paced. They were going to add Tron originally, as proved by one of the first screenshots of the original Coded. Perhaps they will put that world and others that they cut so we won't get bored by rushing through the storyline so quickly.

What Vanitas666 just said. The only way that the cliffhanger-episode thing would work is ifthey were already in game, but you have to unlock it by some not impossible task.

I know i instantly thought that Coded, itself, had to be kind of boring be that it was on the phones. But the new trailer for Re:Coded looks prettty sick soo I think It will all be gooooooooooooood.

Yeah, this is how I think about it too. It'll be nice and will want to make you keep going.
