Honestly, I don't remember if I knew or not. Ish been a very long time since I've played the first Kingdom Hearts, but the game does have quite a few things that chu can easily miss on chu first play-through, so wouldn't be surprised if I missed it too.

Yeah same here. I knew about the other NPC's showing up in Agrabah but the peddler was the real mvp who stood out to me since I've never seen him before in a playthrough.
