I have a crappy skateboard that I need to get rid of but then I need to buy another one. Any suggestions? I don't know which one is a good brand name and which one is better.

I suggest you either get a Girl or a Chocolate, they have a great pop and last long.

But if you're lacking money, get a blank.

Element's Fiber Lites are pretty good for smaller people.
If you're not small I'd suggest getting a Girl or you can get a decent CCS board for like 75 dollars.

I don't know much about skateboards, but I really like Alien Workshop.

Completes off Blankdecks are only about 60, and their decks are pretty strong. But if I really had to, I'd get a Fight! skateboard. Those are reliable, great shape, and look great. I recommend a Warbird (I don't know if they even make boards anymore).
