I don't know anything that's this long lived and doesn't have a fanbase that's somewhat divide in opinions. After the big success of this game, both in sales and critical reception, I can't see Disney or Square asking for it's cancellation.
Different people will have their breaking point where they'll jump off the series, if and when enough people do so, it'll eventually be cancelled. But we're not close to that point yet.
As long as the series manages to entice new fans it's good. The moment no new teenagers take interst in it and the series only has a aging fan base, it'll be in trouble, but I don't think that's happened yet.
