So what are your favorites? Any authors in particular? What would you recommend?
Some easy ones to find that I really love are The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin, The Enormous Radio by John Cheever, and Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been? by Joyce Carol Oates, which is really good and really terrifying:

Definitely give it a try. Read this for a short fiction class in college last year and we discussed a really interesting analysis that totally intensified how scary it was..

"There's a pretty common analysis that says that Friend is actually the devil. A lot of depictions of the devil show him as having hooves instead of feet, which makes the part with his shoes a lot more interesting, and of course there's a ton of evidence to back up the theory besides that. It's easy to find on the internet, I found it really fascinating/horrifying."
