Under your bed. It's cozy here.
An article on the subject can be found here. Saudi Arabia's UN Ambassador Faisal Bin Hassan Trad Appointed To Influential Human Rights Role

So yeah, the UN has decided to make Saudi Arabia the head of a UN Human Rights panel that will be responsible for setting human rights standards around the world. This is the country that beheads people for drug crimes and flogs/imprisons people for apostasy. They advocate the same type of extremist Islam that ISIS advocates. My big question is why? As far as I can see, we want to get in their good graces for their oil. That's what it looks like to me anyway. No one in their right mind can support this decision. What do you guys think? Do you support this decision? Why do you think it was made?

Well, there are a lot of different things here that can be happening behind the screen that we just aren't seeing. One is that this is someone from Saudi Arabia who is a patriot for human rights and wants to see change. Another is that the UN is doing this as an effort to get someone from Saudi Arabia on a panel that actively discusses human rights, in effort to get human rights policies into Saudi Arabia. But you're right. The Middle East has HORRIBLE standards for human rights. No one seems to be doing anything about it in the various countries. Atrocious things happen every day and are backed by government officials. It seems like people either support these methods or they stay silent. Very few on the scale stand up to them.

The UN has made plenty of mistakes in the past because it's pretty new. It might be trying to be, once again, highly politically correct to an illogical standard.

What is even more ironic is that one of the Saudi princes was arrested for sexual assault on a female maid yesterday or the day before.
