This is a topic I have spent alot of time and thought on... I have this huge theory that goes along with it, but it's pretty far fetched with not much to back it up... (I tend to say alot without much to back it up... all just theories and speculation.... thoughts) But it has to do with Ven being killed during this battle, but his heart is strong enought that it stays in existence, but not in a body. This is where Sora comes in... I think that Sora could be some kind of vessel for Ven's heart. Thus, when Sora releases all of the hearts, he releases Ven's too... which would make Roxas have a heart, be able to wield a Keyblade, be connected to Sora and Ven.. and all that good stuff... Note: This is the EXTREMELY short and undetailed version of my theory... if it doesn't make sense, tell me and I'll elaborate.

That...That makes a LOT of sense actually. I think the UEM just took Vens Keyblades heart or something, and left Ven to die, but he still survived (Moving Eyes?) And then Vens heart "Lingered" And took up residence with Sora, kinda like an unwanted roommate, or a stalker who steals his way into your house to watch when you sleep. And then Vens Heart floats away with Roxas and they go off together. Yup.

If Ven's heart embodied Sora, then wouldn't Sora have reacurring dreams of Ven's past awakening due to triggering events? Just like how Kairi's heart embodied Sora, Sora had a vision of a memory that Kairi didn't even remember. I doubt Roxas is Ven. What I think is that Ven was an ancestor in Sora's bloodline. A predecessor of fighters. I doubt that Ven's heart embodied Sora but I do think that Sora is blood related to Ven.

Probably Aqua gave up her life for Ven to live and wipe his memories from the horrible incident that happened. Thus leaving the armor behind.

Axel did once say to Roxas 'You really...do have a heart, don't you" or somethign along those lings when they were at the clock tower. or so I've heard. Perhps Roxas must have lost his heart but similar to Sora (as He is Sora) was able to retain his form..and his nobody came about..which is weird. meh, i doubt it, since they both look exactly a like and Sora and Roxas don't look a like. Plus the idea of a nobdy coming from a nobody is a bit weird.

Huh, this is my theory of Roxas having a heart -

What I think when Nomura said "Roxas can use the keyblades because he has a connection with Sora" is that the heart of Sora is connected to the body of Roxas. Both are running on one heart. They are sharing that one heart. The power of Sora has been splited into two bodies, thus explaining why Roxas has power over the keyblade. It's because they are sharing the same heart!

Also...

Roxas had a heart. But it was being shared with Sora because the heart has returned to the body. Roxas was a nobody before, but when Sora became human again from heartless, Roxas became whole also. But at a cost, it split the powers of Sora.

You like the idea of reaccuring dreams don't you? lol.. you've mentioned it before... but I have something on this... Sora only started having the dreams of Kairi when she "called" on him. Such as the vision from Hollow Bastion, where Kairi's grandmother was talking to her, Sora says, "Kairi, did you call me?" That is why I think he was having the visions/dreams... Kairi was constantly trying to get Sora to realize that her heart was within him. But another reason I don't think he was having the dreams about Ven and such has to do with the whole, birth by sleep thing. I'm still working this out in my head, because I just got a load of new information today that made me think about it... but it's along those lines... in short, I believe that Ven's heart was laying dormant, or asleep, in Sora.

And not to "rain on your parade" (I like that phrase, sorry. lol) but I am COMPLETELY against the idea of ANY of these people being related... it's too suttle. I'm sticking with my theory for now.

And I'm on the fence about the whole memory wiping thing... I've heard this discussed by you and a couple other people in a diff. forum.. and I just don't know... hmmm. And even if that did happen, what do you think happened to Ven after she was gone? And I don't recall ever seeing Xemnas wearing Aqua's armor, or so I heard.

well i think Ven is a new side of the heart just as roxas is the nobody side of soras heart

Well all 3 nights are probably connected to Sora,Riku and Kairi and if someone is connected to Sora they are connected to Sora too since they same person but i thinm Numora said that they were connected.. but if he didn't then i probably got the idea when it said that fate is connected or something like that at the end of that kh2 fm secret ending

roxas HAS to be related to ven. it'd be stupid to make two characters look identical if they have nothing to do with each other. I posted that soewhere else I think...
