Hi all - I've just finished Riku's story in Re:COM and am preparing to move on to KH2. I've played all of games in the series except for DDD (waiting for 2.8!), and 75% of KH2 before, so I'm familiar with most of the series lore.
Before I move on, there are a couple of things from Re:COM that I couldn't wrap my head around...
1. Why does Riku decide to return to Castle Oblivion, leave Mickey behind, don the blindfold and work for DiZ? The end credits scenes aren't very clear; they show him doing that, but not why. 358/2 Days adds some context, and the prologue of KH2 a bit more, but I can't help feeling like I've missed something.
2. More of a gameplay/story segregation thing, but why does Riku have to fight the Disney bosses and the boss Heartless? He either didn't meet them during KH1, or had only very brief interactions with them, so his memories shouldn't contain the necessary data to stage a battle with them. I presumed that Riku doesn't visit the 100 Acre Wood because he had no memories of it, and thought that this might apply to other elements of Castle Oblivion...
