When he tricked Riku into letting him inside his body, he entered it and claim domain over it. Riku's and Xehanort's heart were inside one body; Riku's. So, that's one of the reasons why Riku didn't create a Nobody.

The other reason being that since his heart wasn't released from his body (and it was still inside of it), a Nobody wasn't created.

No. Riku's heart was kicked out of its body and sent to the Dark Realm.

But Riku never became a heartless, so his body was never casted off. So there is no Nobody.

First there was Riku. Then Xehanort's Heartless took over his body by kicking his heart out and taking the body for his own. Riku's heart then went to the Dark Realm instead of being engulfed by darkness (becoming a Heartless) and was found by Mickey as shown in a scene from KH1FM. Then, because Riku's body was taken up by XH, there was no empty body to turn into a Nobody.

this was pretty much explained in kingdom hearts final mix. riku's heart was on the other side of the door, but like sora, he had a humanoid form. so he didn't become a heartless and his body was being taken over by XH
