red hex ring in ancient highway

okay, in level 3 of ancient highway, i cant get the 9th item, i checked on gamefaqs and its a firaga/G dropped by a red hex ring. i tried for about two hours to find it, i can kill all of the regular ones that pop out around the hunter and sometimes the gold one too, but i can't seem to find the red one, can anyone help me out?

if that's after you kill the big black spinny laser thing and then lots of little white ships spiral in from the top corners, then I think I remember that one. I would go with a ship having lots of cockpits for a power bonus, throw in mostly multidirection cannons, with the medal converter and draw abilities. Cuz this is a case where the ship reveals itself after killing a certain number of enemies, and to do that you have to kill the above mentioned spinny black thingie in a matter of a few seconds.

I'm just doing this from memory so there's a fairly high probability that I got this completely wrong.
