10/10
Haise's words, am I right? It speaks so much for the TG series. Yet I find that his words are contradicted by the image of Touka above them... A ghoul in a tragic grotesque world, yet Touka is simply beautiful, inside and outside... Her image is enough to make oneself question if there is indeed such thing as a soul or even God inside our and their bodies, sharing human shape. Beautiful. 10/10 for mental delight
Yes, that quote is from a poem that Ishida wrote on Haise's birthday. The part where it belongs to is a bit longer, but that specific point is my favorite. Yeah, it might seem like a contradiction but in a way I think that line resonates with Touka in the beginning of TG. Then she thought that it did not matter if a murderer like her dies, so maybe she viewed herself as "hideous thing" too, struggling in a swamp of self loathing.
I sometimes wonder if Ishida's poems reflect his own views about the world, not just the characters.
I also wanted that my avatar would be something from :re, and then the signature would have something from the original series. Combining them both and showing Ishida's old and new drawing style.
