Will CoM be needed to understand the the story of KH2? If so can some 1 tell me it

More or less you do. Theres quite a bit having to deal w/ Organization 13 in it to begin w/ because 7 of the 13 are involved within it and explains the whole thing the beggining of the game and why everything has changed so much.

you dont exactly need to play it...but there are alot of threads on this site that tells the overall Story of CoM...which you shld at least know

I dunno what your trying to say, so I'll just start saying stuff. In CoM you just go to the worlds you went to in the first game because they are "memories" from Sora. The only real storyline comes in when you are inbetween the floor. (Your just in a castle and the different floors become worlds.) So yeah.

well you dont really but it helps explain why everyones a year older and what happend during that year to Sora, Riku and co and you get to know king micky and Riku more. It also introduces the 13th order ect...
