Lillian found out about her power when she was very young, before she can even remember, in fact. Lilly was just a baby, and her mother was giving her a bath one day. Lily started playing in the water happily, splashing and giggling, when the water began to rise and move like a snake. This freaked her mother out, especially when she saw that Lillian was the one controlling it. Lily, on the other hand, acted as though it was normal- she knew no better then.
Immediately, her parents tried, and failed, to keep the abilities a secret from Lillian. Maybe if she forgot them, she would grow up normally and even lose the powers from disuse. Any time she could, though, Lily used the powers. When she swam, she created currents in the pool. When she bathed, she made the water dance around her. Even when she drank, she made a huge show about not using her hands and making the drink float to her on its own. Her parents explaining to her that her power was dangerous and different didn't phase her, since she didn't ever care to be the same as everyone else if they were going to make her.
In comparison to so openly using her power so much, dispite neighbors, peers, and others having a lot to say about that, Lily coming out as pansexual almost didn't get a reaction- almost. She explained that, yes, everyone was different, but she didn't see physical differences important at all in determining whether or not she liked someone. Just like she didn't see how others commenting on her powers would cause trouble like they insisted. It annoyed her when her mother accused her of having feelings for her younger sister just because of this announcement, though. "She's reeeaaally not my type, mom," she said with a chuckle, despite her parents seriously suspecting her of incest.
Lily had quite a few friends and several boyfriends/girlfriends(no more than one at a time, of course) while she grew up, but she was never popular with the adults. An incident with some of teachers and staff at her school relating to her powers resulted in her having to repeat the 6th grade. She called them out on being prejudice, or whatever the proper term was, but that only got her in more trouble. She didn't even use them that much anymore, since she had other things to show off, but they never seemed to be able to get past the fact that she could.
Lily's little sister seemed to be getting more and more worried about Lily's situation, it seemed. Lily hadn't expected Kayla to suggest Lily going off to some weird school for kids with powers like her, though. Ignoring the fact that she wasn't sure she'd even be able to break the language barrier, Lily wasn't comfortable leaving Kayla all alone when she'd had an emotional breakdown recently. That was when Kayla surprised her by demonstrating her powers to her parents for the first time. Lily had known since she'd coaxed her into testing for powers of her own, but her parents hadn't.
Right then, Lily didn't care about what either of her parents thought. She was proud of her little sister and she gave her a big hug.
Both of them were sent to the school shortly after, with hardly a goodbye from their mother.

This includes simple hydrokinesis as well as the ability to change water's state(freezing water or turning water vapor into liquid water, for example). Water must be present in some form for her to use her powers, but since she can also control water despite a barrier being between herself and the water(such as water in a bottle or an organism) this is usually not a problem.

Her friend hadn't meant to be cruel when she said this, but it made Kayla feel like there really was no point in trying any more if she couldn't tell the difference and actually thought she'd managed it for once. She didn't show how much it hurt her until she got the chance to get home and cry in her sister's arms about it. Immediately after this, Kayla slowly hung around that group less and less, and became almost completely secluded. With the exception of her family, she closed everyone out for a while.
It was shortly after that that she heard about a school just for "special" people, like herself and her sister. "Mom, Dad, can I go to the school, too, then?" she called over the noise before dispelling the tornado. It was started to get hard to breath like that, after all.
Her parents were speechless, but Lily wrapping her in a big hug made it all seem worth it to Kayla.

Power: Air manipulation- has control over air. She can affect its kinetic energy, raising and lowering the temperature at will; control its movement and pressure; create a vacuum; manipulate wind cause tornadoes, etc. Air has to be around for her to control, but that is rarely an issue.
