I had a humiliating experience at ACen during a Trevor Mueller and Cristopher Smith art panel. I feel like I already told everyone and their grandmother about it already, but I felt that they were unprofessional in gratuitously scapegoating a fandom to the crowd, especially if they mentioned they didn't even consume the material in any way. I was laughed at by the entire crowd when I stood up to them. And ACen is basically a rave con with drugs and schaudenfreude. Kollision Kon is a boring copy.
Anime Midwest seemed to be have a much less negative environment from the attendees, but I'll keep what you said in mind. If you have an article or record about The AnimeCon.org CEO, then can I link it please?
It's probably too late for me to go to Geek.Kon, and I have relatives I don't like in Wisconsin, but I'll keep it in mind for next year. I heard that Matsuri Con is a pretty big convention, but that people who run it there do it for the right reasons. I wish there was a convention closer to where my brother lives, so that I can easily go there by train or something.
