It is branded on me forever and will be filled in with shades of purple [for no reasons other than I like shades of purple more than shades of yellow and black] eeeeventually. It'll cost me 60-80 to do so apparently.

I think you look cute in this photo but I'm sorry you went to Anime Midwest [I have a lot of hatred towards the owner of that one]. I hope you had fun all the same.
To be honest, I hate ACen even more because of the environment of the attendees and you just walk around bored mostly, and everything is expensive. But still, thanks. If there are better conventions than either of those, then hopefully I'll go to them if I have the money.
Geek.Kon and Anime Milwaukee are both great Wisconsin ones. ACen is only good if you have a lot of money to spend and are going for a day and not paying for a hotel.
Geek.Kon is super cheap because it's still small enough to breathe, Milwaukee is bigger [biggest in wisconsin at least] but has MUCH more space allotted for the convention so doing things is actually *possible*. Both are run by good people.
Anime Midwest is unfortunately run by an accused rapist and charged physical assault con artist that treats his staff like shit and has a lot of creepy shit around him.

Oh my God... Nobody ever told me that. I just read on the facebook pages that he was conceited. Well, I already have my ticket for Con + Alt + Delete paid for, but remind me to buy a Plan B pill before I go. I don't care to go to Wisconsin, but...I have been thinking about Matsuri-Con, and Youmacon. And since I'm now a Lolita, there's Rufflecon. Maybe I'll go next year.
Yeah you can read the rape police reports along with the victim's testimony. I don't believe he has done time for it, but I know he was charged with physical assault because he decked someone in the artist alley because they refused to do something. This year he "denied" a complaint towards how the staff were treated this year and how scheduling fucked with all of them and locked the thread. It was ridiculous and it just isn't how you run things.
You should also be good as long as you avoid him and don't volunteer for staff as many of the people who were unfortunately raped seemed to be people who were on staff/volunteers that were close to his hotel room.
I hear many good things about Youma but it's also large as heck. I have yet to go to that or Matsuri.
