That place. The place with the thing.
And really? huh, guess everything was wrapped up in a neat little bow. I must've only thought that it was never fixed because I sometimes listen to "Together Forever" when driving home from work. There is one line that Misty says

"You'd better find a way to pay me back for that bike Ash Ketchum!"

And I just assumed that was the only true loose end. Besides Primeape. And Team Rocket never being brought to justice, and a whole bunch of stuff actually.
How did you think Misty left the show to begin with…?

EDIT: Not sarcasm. Genuinely curious.

Real reason: TPC wanted a new female travelling companion was apparently for fanservice I guess?

In universe reason: Her ditzy sisters went out on a shopping spree around the world leaving the gym (and presumably all the water pokemon that live there) abandoned, forcing Misty to return home and take care of it.

Another arc of Pokémon Horizons coming to a close soon so some more thoughts on the Pokémon Horizons anime.

  • Episodes 26 to 45 (making up the second arc for Japan) were a pretty decent bunch of episodes. Diana especially is such a fun character to have around during the first half and she'll no doubt be popping back up again in the near future. Weak spot was Episode 26 which was kinda dull until the exposition dump at the end. The small Lapras storyline and the Explorers three part conclusion was cracking too.
  • The Paldea arc might be the weakest one for me so far - it actually starts off pretty great with Liko, Roy and Dot going off to do some Terastalization training against some of the Paldea gym leaders. Dot vs Iono especially was a fantastic battle with some gorgeous looking animation. Liko vs Rika was very well handled too, Liko tearing up at the end because Floragato wasn't able to defeat her Clodsire. But then about Episode 59 is where the writing quality drops off - Dot vs Larry was fine enough but I really didn't care much for Roy vs Ryme (rematch was slightly better) and Liko vs Grusha and was starting to get a bit tired with how cliched these battles were getting (secondary Pokemon out first, they lose in two seconds, their starter Pokémon afterwards and they lose to the gym leader anyway).
  • Poor Liko too. I know that for the most part they still pass their tests but not only did Liko lose in every single battle this season (she only won once against Ann in the first episode of the arc) but she didn't pass Grusha's test either. Here's hoping that things turn around for her next week as she battles Roy in the final episode of the Paldea arc.
  • The Explorers, man oh man the Explorers just keep on getting cooler and cooler and these last three episodes have been the most intriguing stuff for me in this series. Spinel especially got some pretty big stuff plot-wise and easily has that "dip-shit who's likely going to betray everyone" energy to him. But Amethio got the biggest plot stuff of all because

and we finally get to see what their leader looks like. Honestly can't wait to see how things go with the next arc because this is already more interesting than anything involving Team Rocket in their worser seasons.

Ah, it still doesn't surprise me that a lot of people are pissed when Liko loses. They really don't get that she didn't have the opportunity for the "ideal" trainer experience. I mean, ignoring the fact that she's being hunted by a shady organization the places the RVT have been taking her aren't exactly novice trainer friendly. They literally went to the galar mine that was being terrorized by a galarian moltres! I doubt even Kanto Ash would've been able to take it. Though I guess it is accurate to SS where you can challenge any of the gyms in any order where most novice players WILL be curbstomped by Grusha no matter what starter they chose.

So um, there's been a massive leak of confidential pokemon info. Including a couple of planned mega evos for Z-A, the ending to Horizons, and way too many short stories written about human-pokemon interbreeding.

Alright, the first two seem legitimate, but I feel like the latter came from that skeevy part of the internet that is only discussed in hushed whispers.

You know the one.

have we forgotten that Pokémon and Humans married at some point in the history of the Pokémon world? This has been a canon thing since Diamond and Pearl

Yeah, I’m seeing Prismatic booster and elite sets sell for nearly double/triple their original price. It’s fairly crazy..

I recently downloaded TCG Pocket and it’s fairly fun. I mean, it scratches that itch to open packs without having to spend any real money. Some of the art is really nice too.

What'd you all think of that proper Z-A reveal? This is the first time since BW that I'm actually interested in playing a new Pokémon game. Arceus was a small step in the right direction but it seemed repetitive with having to catch multiple monsters of the same species and the checklists.

With this new ATB system, we'll at least see a few more expressive animations from the creatures and their integration into the city seems reasonably good from the trailer. They still seem to wander around aimlessly like in Sword/Shield and Scarlet/Violet but at the very least placing them in specific parts of town or having them dash through the sand like the Sandile we see in the trailer seems a bit more thoughtful.

I'm glad that we got more info (especially a release date) but I'm worried that the starters will get megas instead of regional variants. Don't get me wrong, I like mega evolution as a whole, but at the end of the day it's just a gimmick, a temporary power boost that consumes the precious item slot. PLA had the right idea giving the starters regional forms. Not only did they all fit the setting, but they made some of them better than their original counterparts and allowed them to still use items.

Wild to see the anime's getting to do something like this after being used to the usual status quo for so long. Loving their new designs, Roy especially is looking absolutely rad as hell. He's also getting a Mega Lucario (a shiny one though I'm not a fan of said shiny) and looks to be taking care of Cap as well (since something's definitely happening to Friede next week and he's nowhere to be seen).

I am quite excited to see what direction the series is going to go with this time-skip. The current arc wraps up next Friday and it's been a real wild ride throughout these past few weeks with just non-stop big moments.

I always thought yellow shinies were the best, certainly better than the usual techniques they employ (I'm looking at you Armarouge and Ceruledge).

It's very apparent Liko and Roy are a one and done and won't be sticking around for multiple gens.
