and here i thought welfare was where people went to show off all their artesian beauties

forget the fact that i threw a brick through a window to get here,
that i tied around it with barbed wire that said
'from russia, with love'
even though i don't know how to write that backwards language.

forget that it was something like walking through the front door
to find your younger brother and sister fucking on the couch
while your mom and dad scold them (about not doing it hard enough)
but still, at least you're home

i drove a car through a meadow and a plane through the desert
only to find that sometimes you can't trust a two-bit
or three bit
or eight bit
whore

because all she's ever going to do is block you,
saying 'your princess is in another castle'
when really, she already swallowed her whole.
(because, well, everyone knows:
the best ones swallow)

It's missing something, but I needed to crank something out. Also:

draft for Song 1

birds ate my face
we lost the race to space
in russia space race you

it's sick in your throat
adam's apple for both

birds ate my face
i hate my face
you won the race
but i kept pace
so i'm in your face what a waste

fuck the birds they did their worst
but you were first to be the worse for wear
where?
wear
where?
wear

i hate my space race second place second base face

Re: welfare

song #3

Leaving has never been as hard as when the sun left the sky
The fish left the ocean, the birds took flight
All the same I'm wondering where you'll end up tonight
Will it be with him or will you end up all alone?

Watching all the flashing lights
From sirens and backseat lullabies
I tied you up
So what the fuck
Are you doing here?

At least Helen was whisked away
You walked on your own two feet
Whore on a pedestal at Aphrodite's knee
Singing a song about the sun and the sky
All along I thought your heart was mine

They all think you're the bee's knees
On your knees
Looking up and saying 'baby please'
Well whores don't get a you're welcome
All they get is come on bitch, I'm about to

Come with me away from this place
(It's not a fucking race)
Come with me away from this place
(Towards a backseat place)
Come with me and run into the sky
(You fucking said you were mine)
Come with me and, well, fuck it
(I crossed the finish line)

I absolutely love this one, it's simple without being unintelligent and get's the point across emotionally while leaving ample room for people to not only relate but interpret as well. The flow to me is perfect, nothing awkward there and the rhymes only aid to this. The only issue is when posting a song without notes or anything, people input their own mental music (which they probably would do with poems as well, idk) so that can disrupt the flow but its their own issue

Watching all the flashing lights
From sirens and backseat lullabies

Beautiful.

That one is my favorite as well; I am glad that you enjoyed it and actually posted (cough, the other viewers). If it helps, it's meant for two singers--or, at least, with a sing-scream format. Longer parts (first and third stanzas, non-parenthetic parts) are meant to be sung, while the shorter parts are screamed.

It reminded me of Margot and The Nuclear So & So's (that's a compliment lol) if you've heard of them
