Like I said before - it's a mixture of both. Especially if we have the Katakana writing, trying to claim that a name is pronounced as it would be in English is pointless. If there was to be a Zai sound there, trust you me, they have ways in which they can write it.

Since it's written Shi-O-N, I imagine it's probably Zeeon, but that doesn't sound good to me. (Of course, neither did Roxas when I thought it was spelled Rawkses.)

Luxord - I have heard from somewhere, that his original name is Luxor, a casino game. I'm not sure about it, though, because usually you add the "X" after you have become a Nobody.

Marluxia - Lumaria, meaning a species of a plant.

Larxene - Elenar, meaning a lightning/thunder demon.

Roxas - Sora, duh.

Honestly got no idea on Saix, Axel and Demyx I've got mixed feelings, but while I'd be surprised if Luxor wasn't in part behind Luxord's name, I don't think that's his Somebody's. Someone earlier thought maybe it was "Dolur," but that would be kinda weird.

Lumaria is prolly the closest with Marluxia, and I'm liking Elenar a lot better than some of the others. Most of them end in "ene," like Larene () or Arlene, and that just offends my asthetic sense. I don't think it could be that close with that many letters to move around.

I don't think Marluxia looks at all like a girl expecialy when he has his syth on his sholder and nwith an evil smile like in the opening of KHII. so what if he has pink hair? A good bit of non goth men have pink hair and they look nothing like a girl.:angry:

:O I know not of these men.

But I never had a problem thinking Marluxia was a girl. (When I first saw pics of him, something had happened to the color, so his hair looked brown instead. Or maybe it had to do with early scans, I forget.)

Anyway, anyone remember Frieza from DBZ? How about Kuja from FF9? Certain kinds of femininity=masculinity in Japan. If you got the stones to wear lipstick, you gots to be badass.
