On topic: I agree with the popular belief that their weapons/powers are a manifestation of their human memories/personalities. But it's always seemed strange to me that a being gains supernatural powers all of a sudden just because they lost their heart...

well I know when the first 5 members of the organization were humans three of them were guards -
xigbar,xaldin, and lexaeus. ( this is in birth by sleep scans )they all have similar weapons that they have as nobodies.
