I don't think it's Sai. I doubt they would just stick an X on the end and put dots over the I.

you also have to under stand theres not much you can do with a 3 letter word. Sai sounds alot better then isa , sia(possible name) asi. Sai sounds better then all of those
I understand that perfectly, and I think that all of those sound okay. Except asi.
True asi sounds retarded. im just saying (IMO) that sai makes more sense to me since its a actual Japanese name. sia would work 2 though
I'd rather have any combination besides asi of course and sai where there is no scramble at all.

Yes, but Sai is a very common Japanese name. Remember Saïx name was originally intended to be romanized as Saix. We've seen it written out in scans. It's technically supposed to be pronounced ""Psyches", not "Sai-iks".

does it really have to be a japanese name? if sai has some connections to moon, than yes i believe his name would be that.
just like marluxia=lumaria because his name has plant or flower meaning.
and larxene might be elenar and arlene, one of these means a god of lightning.
It doesn't have to be Japanese, by no means.

Xaldin = Dilan, a common western name.

think about it though, those were givens, i believe the closest ones were the ones with meanings.
Considering those are the only two with any sort of meaning, and neither of them are confirmed, yeah...

also dilan isnt a western name. "Dylan" is, not "dilan"
anyways....like i said, they dont have to but if there was name with those letters that gave a meaning to there own attribute would be almost a given dont you think?
i also dont remember the whole ale thing, did tetsuya nomura said it? or is it a common fact that people figured out/
dilan an dylan are the same my friends name is dilan but he spells it dylan.

I agree. A lot of the names have meanings that are either relating to their element or nods to other characters.
Only two of the names do, and they're not even confirmed. x.X
