Re: The World ENDS With YOU : What A WONDERFUL World [SignUps]
You've got to be kidding, we’re playing for our right to live? What about those we’ve left behind? Are you going to kill them too! - Siam, basic translation of her way of communication.
Name: Melody Rhapsodos
Nickname(s): Siam, there was another one but she can't remember it.
Age: 16
Hometown: Memphis, Tennessee *was visiting Shibuya for a family vacation*
Appearance: Blond hair falls to mid-back; dull, cloudy blue eyes seem to have a touch-n-go light to 'em. Her long, dark lashes and thin blonde eyebrows seems to intensify the dullness of her eyes. Melody stands at 5’5” in height. A soft, satin white dress falls to the girl's ankles. Slim, she has a frail appearance about her and has a white bandage around her upper left arm; concealing a healing injury. There are various pale, thin scars that differ in length from how she entered the game. The last notable thing about her appearance; is that there’s a quiver of arrows and a cherry wood bow that she carries around everywhere; perfect for sniping out enemies before they can attack her.
Personality: Reserved and withdrawn, Siam tries not to let her sudden lack of voice bother her. She is quick to pick up on things, yet she's naive when it comes to boys; she's also quick to jump to her friends defense. Earthbound, Siam would rather spend her time surrounded by nature than in the house; she's very loyal and protective of her friends, and she's always there to cheer them up when they need it. She's not one to burden her friends with her problems. Siam's very protective of those younger than her, looking after them with a fierceness that is shocking compared to her laid back, easy going nature. Siam can also be up beat and cheerful, often getting herself into trouble that she needs help getting herself out of; this seems to be a bit of a running gag.
Reason for Death: Walking home from the library, she had an accident; although what caused it she doesn't know.
Price Paid: Voice; while she can’t speak she has a different way to communicate.
Cellphone: A blue and black Nokia; generally joked around that she has a mp3 that could make and receive phone calls.
Biography: Born into a middle class family, Melody is the middle child of three; an older brother and a younger sister make up her siblings. Her childhood had it's ups and downs, but it was nothing major. She was very close to her brother who almost always invited her along on his trips with his friends; including Samhain, who she'd grown particularly close to, even seeing him as an older brother.
Disappointed when he moved away, Melody focused intently on her music and books. Her skills improved with age and experience, until she was able to write well enough that her brother asked her for assistance in his pursuit to become an author. At the age of fourteen, Melody felt lost for words when she learned of her brother dying in a hit-n-run. Retreating into her mind, she didn't say much and instead turned to her writing and music, using it as an outlet for her emotions.
Over time she began to talk again and forged the same bond with her sister. Having lost contact with Samhain, she tried not to let this bother her; forcing herself to go back to school, Siam struggled with getting her grades back up until she was finally able to snap out of her funk.
Melody quickly threw herself back into her studies, hanging out with friends and her family and the rest of her time was devoted to her words. This carried on for the next two years; when she was out of school her mother suggested a trip to Japan, saying something about looking up an old friend.
Agreeing to it, she was all too enthusiastic to meet up with Samhain again. Meeting up with him shortly after arriving at Shibuya; she was thrilled with how taken her sister, Sonatina was with the young adult. Learning that they'd be staying until it was close for them to get back to school; Melody spent quite a bit of time with her old friend, even telling him about the accident.
She grew upset when, during the trip, Sonatina grew sick and quite feverish. Wandering off to the library to escape the guilt, she checked out some books with Samhain's card, before heading back to where she'd been staying. Along the way, Siam got severely hurt and passed out from her injuries only to awaken on Cat Street with several healing cuts.
Battle Style: Melody is a long distance fighter; preferring to work in a fast and efficient fashion. Although, when long-distance isn’t an option, she is fairly decent in close combat.

Siam weaved in between the people on the street; she had to find someone, anyone that’d listen to her. That was, she would be trying to do that if she
could talk. Her eyes snapped from side-to-side in an attempt to find out where she was and what was going on. Although, instead of calming her, it frightened her more. She’d awoken not in the Scramble Crossing; but over at Cat Street.
Insanity.
Her mind scrambled for a logical explanation; she hesitated in the crosswalk and watched a couple of people fighting near ten-four. Strange, black wings stretched from their backs and she was positive they were talking about something called a Reaper’s Game that was getting ready to start.
Reaper’s Game?
Wasn’t that just a legend?
Siam shook her head and started walking, trying to stay calm. She was silly for thinking about the Game; she was probably just hearing things anyway. That was until the Noise appeared, training their eyes on her before pouncing, intent on erasing the blonde…
Music drifted from her phone, "Declaration" by David Cook curling into the air.

The Reaper‘s Game, a chance to judge humanity‘s worth to see if the players are worthy of a second chance. In my opinion, it‘s just a sick, twisted joke someone decided to pull on the rest of us. - Sync in thought.
Name: ????
Nickname(s): Sync
Age: 18
Hometown: Has lived in Shibuya for the last couple of years; Sync rarely speaks of his hometown beyond Shibuya.
Appearance: 5'10" in height, he is fair skinned and has short white hair. Dark green eyes, he is muscular yet still deceiving in his build. He has sharp features and always has a secretive smirk on his face; so between that and the glint in his eyes; it seems like he's baiting you into a fight. He wears red short-sleeved jacket, which he leaves unbuttoned, over a red shirt, once more short sleeved. A grey belt is laced through close fitting blue jeans, there is hints of distressing on the right knee. His shoes are black sneakers that has blue laces, there is a black leather pouch clipped to his hip; a small collection of various knives are concealed within. Large ebony wings stretch from his back; a couple of slits in the back of his jacket for his wings. As for jewelry? Sync wears a gold chain that he conceals under his shirt, no one knows what is concealed at the end or what‘s inside of it. There is also a single dark blue stud earring in his right ear.
Personality: Silent and distant, Sync is observant to the world around him; emotionally distant Sync can have random emotional outbursts, but these are few and far between. Loyal, he isn’t afraid to carry out his orders; he could be described as hot-headed, although this isn't the case. If he feels he’s at fault for something, Sync will do his best to make things right, even going as far as to break rules. Levelheaded, Sync is protective of his friends. Tight-lipped, he prefers to give away as little information as possible; although on the flip-side, it also makes him a good person to tell a secret to. Sync isn’t always serious; he does enjoy a good goof off day and is even willing to make a joke here and there, though it’s generally done in a dry and sarcastic fashion. When alone, Sync grows even quieter and tends to sing; what the songs are and what their connection is to his past have yet to be revealed.
Reason for Death: Sync had gotten caught in the middle of a nasty fight between two people on his way home in the rain. The silly thing is? He knew he should have taken a different route, so his death could have been avoided. If it wasn’t for that feline…
Price Paid: Emotions; especially his ability to grow close to people *got it back after winning the week he got pulled in; although it‘s still hit-n-miss*
Cellphone: The same phone as Siam, although it's pure black.
Biography: Middle class family with a twin brother; he was quite often getting himself in trouble and always living on the edge. Ditching class, fighting with his teachers, flirting with girls, yada, yada, yada. He quickly learned which streets to avoid and which ones were safe; but than again, that’s not a surprise with how often he was wandering around when he needed the break from school.
Moving to Shibuya at the age of sixteen, his world was thrown upside down. First, there was learning which streets were okay and which to avoid all over again. He also noticed a strange change in the residences: some rambling about the Reaper’s Game and put in the mental hospital; while others said something about people appearing and disappearing when they left stores.
He thought they were all insane; until that night in the rain a year and half later.
His brother had insisted that they head home; that they avoided one of the more dangerous streets. Normally, he would have listened, but he saw an orange striped tabby cat go down the alley, limping. Following it to make sure it was okay, Sync didn’t have to look back to know his brother was there.
It wasn’t long before the words of a heated argument reached his ears. Freezing, he listened to the debate, trying to make out the hissed words. His brother tried to pull him back, and it wasn’t long before Sync started to inch backward, although by then it was too late. Both brothers had been spotted, and both had been attacked by the strangers.
Falling to the concrete, Sync clutched the injury and glanced over to see his twin injured too. Losing consciousness, he’d awoken twenty-four hours later…in the Scramble Crossing? His twin brother was there too; it didn't take them long to team up and start combating the Noise. The Reaper's game; it was crazy, both brothers constantly watching eachother's back to avoid getting sniped. Sync noticed throughout the week just how persistent the reapers were; especially one in particular.
Sync was relieved when the seventh day rolled around and they'd won the game. Sync volunteered to become a reaper so his brother could return to his life; after all, Sync had nothing waiting for him back in his life, so why force his brother to stay? It was obvious that the Reapers wanted at least one of them, so he might as well go with these guys. Having his entry fee returned, Sync wasn't surprised when he learned that he was just shy of a Harrier rank.
Six months passed by and Sync turned down each promotion, until this game. Making a deal with the Conductor, he finally accepted the promotion and was told to track down another Harrier...the same one that tried to erase him during his time as a Player! There is one thing Sync's positive on...
The Conductor is out to erase him for the fun of it.
Battle Style: Sync prefers a swift battle; part of it is because he dislikes wasting a ton of energy; yet on the flip-side he also doesn't mind if the battle gets drawn out, 'cause that leaves a chance for his opponent to make a mistake big enough for him to get in a good hit. He's anywhere from mid to long combat; yet he's still pretty good with close range fights too. Put it simply, Sync can quickly adapt to any sort of combat if talking his way out of a situation doesn't work out right.

Hunt Goes On Deep In The Night -~
It was raining; just like that night.
The solid thud of it hitting the window had the reaper on edge, although not as much as he was about to do. He was being assigned a work partner to teach him the ropes, his first week as a Harrier. He calmly walked into the room and scanned the different faces, searching for the one that was supposed to help him out.
He bit back a mirthless laugh. It was ridiculous on the Players this time around, and things were shaping up to be a really bad week.
Sync shook his head, refusing to think such dark thoughts. Dark green eyes found the other reaper, causing a frown to tug at his lips as the younger one quickly shook his head. Schooling his features into one of boredom and impassiveness, Sync made his way closer to the senior reaper, trying not to think of how fun it’s going to be with the fact he seemed to have a bad attitude.
He knew a little bit about this reaper; including that he was known for following orders yet at the same time giving someone the bird. Was the boss trying to kill him? If so, he had another thing coming; Sync wasn't planning on going down without a fight, and the work week was bound to be long and hard. And he was sure it was going to be a cruel one.
Little did the rookie know, just how right he was.
