One is All, All is One [Fullmetal Alchemist RP?]

Would anyone be interested in a Fullmetal Alchemist roleplay?

It's still in the beginning stages of planning, but I wanted to see who would be interested all the same.

The RP is alternate universe, so there's no history regarding any cannon characters. However, all of the lore from the manga (and the Brotherhood anime) is still intact. Well, everything except MAYBE the origin of the Homunculi.While I'd like to have this RP exists within the 'lore' of the manga, I find the way that the Homunculi were portrayed (created through Human Transmuation, weakness is an item from their past life) in the first anime intriguing. That's where the poll comes in!

You'll be able to play as either an independent (this would be your Scar type characters), Military (Hawkeye, Havoc), State Alchemist (Ed, Mustang), or Homunculus. So there will be plenty opportunity for you to choose your own path.

The main thing I want to do for this RP is explore the FULL world of FMA. We were only able to see two countries, so in this roleplay I want to travel out into the other countries like Drachma.

Finally, The Gate of Truth will also be used much more in this RP and in various ways, one way is similar to what occurred when Ed hopped into 'Our' realm in the first anime.

Meh, it's all still being sorted out, especially the plot. So if anyone wants to collab...i'm totally open.

YES!!! I'd be all over this rp like grape soda stains on a white shirt! i LOVE fma and it'd be awesome to rp as an alchemist. You should definitely start this!!



Question: Could a character we rp as use alchemy without a circle? (like Ed or Izumi can)

To answer your question....

It's IS possible, but only if your character has opened the Gate before. Other than that they would have to use some form of transmutation circle.

Questions: Can I make two characters? I will most likely make only one but I still want to know if I can make two. Also how different are the manga and first anime homunculus? I mean I have read the anime and seen the series but I don't see any difference between them.

In the manga, the way to kill a Homunculus is by using up all the power in the Philosopher's stone so that they eventually aren't able to revive themselves every time they 'die'.
In the first anime, having something which was original a part of the Homunculus near them weakens them and they are then susceptible to death (I read this on Wiki, I actually forgot how the Homunculi died in the first anime).

Now to get to business...

I'm interested and I chose the first one. :3 What is the plot so far?

Like I said, I'm still fine tuning things, and also open to suggestions at this point--but here's what I got so far...

About three years before the opening of our story, in the year 1911 there was a world war. 'Officially' [what's FMA without controversy?], the conflict was sparked over territory. Alliances were made, lines were drawn, and shots were fired.

The notable alliances in the war were Aerugo, Creta and Drachma while Amestris enlisted the aid of fellow alchemical state Xing from across the Great Desert. Here's a map to get a better view of things. Now, the specifics of what happened during the World War, like major battles and such will be explored fully through flashback sequences that our Military [and State Alchemist] characters will undergo throughout the course of the RP.


Fast forward three years to the start of our RP and the bloodshed is overwhelming on all fronts. Seeing no other choice, a world summit is called by the Amestrian Fuhrer and Xingese Emperor in order to find a peaceful solution to the conflict. Both Amestris and Xing had possession of Philosopher's Stones, and they made the power of these items very clear during the first three years of war--so the other nations had their hands tied and were more or less forced to agree to attend.

The RP opens up on the day of the World Summit, which is being held in Central City, Amestris. Each foreign nation arrives with their elite soldiers, should anything pop off during the conference. If you're Military or State, you should have no problem getting your character here [mind you, you can be from ANY nation in the world of FMA]. If you're independent, maybe you were hired as a mercenary? Or maybe you were just curious and sneaked in?

Anyway doe. Of course, SOMETHING goes worng; enter the Homunculi who's only goal seems to be disrupting the impending peace that the Summit would create.

The events of the introduction will ultimately lead to global suspicion and unrest, finger pointing, political uproar and conspiracy, and international espionage, with the Philosopher's Stone, and the true nature of the Gate of Truth all at its center.

Somebody asked earlier if multiple characters were allowed? I never answered it, but yes, you can have as many characters as you want.
