Chapter 1: What's Happening?
Everything has been different since Samantha, Lily, and I have started the new year. I've been busy with soccer and hardly have the time to even go one date with Lily, Lily has been drowning herself in her books and cheerleading, even Samantha has been to a bunch of night clubs while I'm a soccer practice. School and our lives have been tearing us apart since summer. What worries me is that Lily has been acting funny since I got on the soccer team when she got back from Scotland. She's been bring an umbrella to school, wearing long sleeves and a jacket with it (knowing she hates sweating, especially in the summer), wearing jeans constantly with black boots, sunglasses, and a scarf around her and once she gets inside a building, she takes all those layers of clothes off her, that way I can actually see some skin from her.

The season is autumn and the weather has gotten cooler, so Lily will survive this season. I don't know what's going on with Lily and it's scaring me. Things have gotten weirder this year for sure. About twenty students have been sent to the hospital and all of them seem to be healthy, all the doctor could find was a bite mark on either the neck or wrist and the bites are very similar to vampire bite marks, and theres a constant growth rate of bats in the neighborhood. I believe in vampires, but my town is a safe place, and no one knows if there are any vampires that exist even today. Probably the bite marks on those students were from the bats that are flying around this town.

I live in Seattle and every now and then I hear old folks say that this a way of the witches having their revenge, by asking their friends the vampires from Hell to kill us for killing them. Life it weird now and it has gotten darker for sure. “It's a curse I tell ya,” Samantha said to me with a grim look on her face as she rests her face on her hand. “You actually believe the old folks that there's a curse in Seattle?” I asked Samantha. “Of course I do, I mean, nothing like this has ever happened in our lifetime,” Samantha replied to me. “Guys, it's probably just a coincidence since Halloween is on it's way and that there's gonna be a full moon on that day,” Lily said before she took a sip of her double tomato juice drink.

“Only you would say something like that Ms. Holiday Lunar Girl,” Samantha teased. “Hey, I like being 'Ms. Holiday Lunar Girl,' and you know it,” Lily said. “I know that, that's why you're still our friend....because you're so weird,” Samantha teased while giving Lily a soft hug. “Oh, I'm weird? What about you reading everyone's energy-wave?” Lily said looking a little annoyed. “Look who's talking 'Ms. I'm-wearing-everything-all-over-my-skin-to-protect-myself-from-the-sun-because-I'm-allergic-to-the-evil-sun,'” Samantha said. “Wow that's a long name you have Lily,” I laughed. “Shut up, Tom,” Lily said to me and pushed me off the bench. And clumsy as I am, I didn't fall off the bench gracefully.

The class bell rang, so Samantha, Lily, and I rushed to get the best seats to our next class in the back row. Lily and I ran to P.E. So we could avoid traffic on our way to the locker rooms. “See you in the gym, Love,” Lily shouted out through her scarf that was over her mouth. “Ok, I'll see you inside,” I replied to Lily. I thought everything was weird as it is, with Lily suddenly being allergic to the sun just after summer, and seeing that she looks fine when she's inside. I changed into my gym clothes and ran to the doors before everyone got to them. I was one of the first boys to get inside the gym and saw that Lily was the first girl to be there too, and seeing that she was wearing her gym uniform. “You have gotten faster changing into your gym clothes lately,” I said to her with a little smile. “You think so?” Lily asked me.

“Yea, you know......gym was never my favorite subject because people treated me badly. But seeing that you're in gym this year, it became my favorite subject,” I said sweetly to her. “It's also because I can see your skin without you covering your entire body,” I said to her as I softly touched her cheek. Lily giggled when I told her that and she said “Well, I'm sorry that I suddenly became allergic to the sun and that I'm so protective of my skin. I do miss feeling your hand on my cheek like this. And sooner or later, I'm gonna be as white as Michael Jackson, so you're gonna have an extremely pale white half Hawaiian girlfriend.” “I'm still gonna love you either way,” I said as I slowly leaned in closer to her face and kissed her softly on the lips.

A whistle rang out that echoed inside the gym and interrupted our kiss. We got into our lines and stretched out, since I was taller than Lily, I was behind her. We did 150 jumping jacks, 100 sit-ups, 50 leg-lifts, and 200 push-ups all period.....which really sucked. Everyone sorely walked to their locker rooms and slowly changed into their normal clothes. I was the first to change out of the gym uniform and walked outside to see that it was raining. “What the heck? It was just sunny 2 hours ago,” I said. “Who cares? I can actually show some bare skin with the sun hidden in the clouds,” Lily's voice rang out.

I looked on my left and saw Lily wearing her black hat, black tank top, letterman's' jacket, jeans, and her black boots with the belts on it. She turns her head to look at me and gave me a big smile. “I guess you can feel my skin outside this time without all my garbage covering me up,” Lily grinned. I threw myself at her and hugged her tightly. I kissed her on the head and said “Yea, I can see your face now.” She looked up to me and smiled, “Yea, and I can see your eyes clearly.”

The bell rings and everyone ran to their car as fast as they could. The girls began screaming for their lives while they cover their hair with their books. Lily and I laugh at them as they screamed on their way to their cars. “It's so entertaining to watch them squirm in the rain,” Lily said as she laughed. “I know,” I laughed as I couldn't breathe. We got to the car and turned the heater on. I looked at Lily and asked her, “Are you ok? Do you want to come over to my place to dry off?” “No, it's ok. I like the feeling of the rain pouring on me,” Lily said with a smile. I kept staring at her and gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek, “You're so cute.”

We drove our way to Lily's house as we complained of how mean and evil our P.E. teacher was and how weird things have been going on since the beginning of this year. “So what are you going to be for Halloween tomorrow?” I asked Lily. “Me? Come on Tom, we're going to that Halloween party, the theme is vampires. So we have to dress up like vampires or we'll be egged,” Lily said. I parked at her driveway once we got to her house. We stared at each other in the eyes for a long time and gave each other a long kiss goodbye.

She opened the door, walked out of the car, and walked to her front door gate. I start up the car and began driving in reverse. As I drove in reverse, I tried to reach for my garage door opener, but my index finger ran into a safety pin and stabbed my finger. I parked next to the sidewalk about a few houses away from Lily's house and began licking the blood off my finger. I then see a person walking to my direction and stood next to my window. “Your blood smells so good,” the man said to me. He then punched my window and shattered the glass. The man grabbed me by my collar and threw me out of the car and saw myself flying in the air.

I landed on my back in a bush of thorned roses. “Oh yesss.....the more the blood, the tastier it'll be,” the loony man said as he drooled showing sharp fangs. “Are you....a vampire?” I asked in fear. “I surely am and I am oh....so...real,” he said in a frightening tone. He widely opened his mouth showing all his sharp teeth and flew to me with great speed. I closed my eyes and shielded myself with my arm. When I was ready for him to bite me, I didn't feel anything, I just felt a quick wind blow in my face. I slowly opened my eyes and saw Lily in front of me choking the mad vampire with one hand. “Never go near Tom again, or I will lock you in a tiny little room outside in the blazing sun where there is no shade to protect you,” Lily said in a frightening tone. He just stared at her with great fear in his eyes, “You....you're not human,” the vampire said to Lily. “Go away,” she said coldly, she lets go of him and I watched him run away.

“What does he mean?” I asked her. “What does he mean that you're not human?” I asked Lily. Lily flipped her hair and looked at me with a smile. “He's just a mad vampire, he probably thinks people as fast as me aren't human, especially if a vampire hunter is that fast. And you should know that vampires hunters can match a vampire's speed,” Lily said to me. “Yea, but....where the heck did you come from? I didn't even see you come? And- VAMPIRE HUNTER!!? You're a vampire hunter!?” I screamed in shock and excitement. “Yep, I'm a vampire hunter,” Lily said with a smile. “And that vampire guy was flying at me with such awesome speed that no human can compete with that, no wonder you were fast enough to catch him, you're a vampire hunter,” I said with enthusiasm.

Lily laughs seeing that I was scared a minute ago and now enthusiastic talking about vampires. “You should get some rest, tomorrow's Halloween. And since the school's Halloween party theme is a vampire, the school needs vampire fans, aka 'us', to decorate the gym, so get up bright and early, ok?” Lily said with a bright smile. I smiled back and got up off the thorned bushes. “Oh, and be sure to clean that wound of your's. Now that we know that vampires still exist, we should be clean as possible tomorrow,” Lily said to me.

Chapter 2: Bloody Halloween
“Happy Halloween to all,” Lily said happily as she stapled the banner that said “Have a Bloody Halloween,” with red paint dripping on the end of the letters. “What is it with you and holidays?” I asked her as I was setting the tables and chairs. “I don't know, but I do have a feeling that this Halloween will be better this year,” she said with a smile. I stared at Lily as she splashed the white table clothes with fake blood. “Stop staring at me Tom,” Lily said to me. “I can't help it......you're soo cute,” I said to her then I said “You're too distracting for me to concentrate.”

“Well, I can put a bracelet on you that shocks you whenever you try to look at me,” Lily joked. “Aw.....” I whined, I walked over to her and gave her a big hug, “You're so mean, Love.” “I know I am, that's why I keep doing that,” Lily laughed. She turns her head to face me, then I kissed her passionately on her soft lips. After our kiss we go back to decorating the place again. It took us a while to finish the entire gym especially when there's only Lily and me.

“Ok, I think we're done here,” Lily said as she looked at the decorated vampire gym. “Almost actually, I'm just gonna open up this last table, splash blood on it, then but the bat-shaped crystals on it,” I told her. I opened the table and a part of my hand got caught in the table. “OW OW OW!!” I screamed. I pulled my hand away and saw that the table ripped some skin off my hand. My hand started bleeding like crazy when I pulled it away. “Oh, hold on Lily, I'll go get a bandage for myself,” I told her as I began walking off while I sucked the blood off my hands. “Wait hold on. I was told that a wound will heal faster if you lick it, so I'll do it for you, Love,” Lily said as she took a look at my hand.

Lily started licking the blood off my hand, the wound hurt for little while, but it started feeling better. The wound didn't fully heal, but a little blood covered the wound as the blood became stale. “You're lucky that it isn't dark yet, a bunch of vampires might of swooped in to drink the blood off you,” Lily said as she bandaged up my hand. “Are there more vampires besides that guy that attacked me yesterday?” I asked her. “Yea there's more, there's some vampires on campus too, theres even half breed vampires too,” Lily told me. “Tom, the vampires that you've seen in old movies are mostly fake, the vampires that you've read in 'Interview With the Vampire' are very real,” she said.

“So how long have you been a Vampire Hunter?” I asked her. “How long? Let me think....I think about 5 days after I got to Scotland,” she replied. “Did you train a lot?” I asked her in excitement. I haven't spoken to Lily about vampires in a while and she never wanted to bring up the subject of her trip to Scotland, so everything we were talking about made me excited to know that vampires exist and that my girlfriend was a vampire hunter. “Yea, I did, mostly at night though,” she answered. “I trained in the night because my trainer wanted me to get the feeling of how the night was and so I can see better in the dark just in case vampires want to attack me. It was pretty cool and the vampires was pretty scary there.....a lot scarier than the vampire you encountered yesterday,” she told me.

“Well, we have about 2 hours for the party to start, so I'll go put some make-up on, get a costume ready, and get some anti-vampire weapons,” she said as she puts her jacket and scarf on. “Just in case some vampires want to feast on blood?” I asked. “No silly ol' Tom, so my costume would look cooler,” Lily teased. “Of course to keep the vampires away, want to keep the students safe from other vampires and vampire students, right?” she said in a perky voice. “See you Love?” she said with a smile and blew a kiss to me. I stood up and gave her a hug from behind, I slowly took her scarf off and kissed her around her neck. I kissed a bit of her shoulder and saw a tattoo of black thorns the shape of a rose with daggers pointing at it from four corners.

“What's this?” I asked her pointing at the tattoo on her shoulder. “Oh, you see it?” Lily responded to me in shock. “Is that a tattoo?” I asked her. “No it isn't!” she yelled and pulled away from me, “it's a birth mark.” “A birth mark does not look anything like that,” I said to her seriously, “where did you get it and why?” “I....I got it in Scotland. I didn't want to get it, but it was the vampire hunter's way.” I stared at her seriously, she knew I wouldn't approve of her getting a tattoo, and she hates needles so I knew she wouldn't get one. “Well....you do like protecting people and if it's a mark of the vampire hunters then you can keep it,” I told her while I pushed my hair out of my face.

She gave me a slight smile and hugged me, “thank you Love,” she whispered in my ear. She kissed me on the cheek and walked towards the door. “I'll pick you up in 2 hours, okay?” I yelled to her. She waves back at me and responded, “see you at my place.” She turns around and walks through the door. I got my coat and walk through the door after Lily. I see her walking through the grass and stepping on the orange and red leaves, to me.....she takes graceful steps like a feather blowing in the wind or she may be the wind itself.

Lily walks into her car and drives off towards her home. It's still hard to believe that Lily became my girlfriend and that she loves me back for who I am. Most people might of thought I was weird for liking vampires and repeating lines from videos that I see in video games, but Lily and Samantha didn't really care, they just enjoy my company and thinks I'm funny. I still can't believe Lily, whom was once a popular girl gave up her popularity just because she thought it was stupid how everyone in the popular group teased people below their class and because she wanted to show the world that a popular girl can still hang out with people who aren't popular at all. She wants everyone to live a peaceful life without teasing or beating one another up, that's just someone I was wishing to see maybe once in my life, but it never came to mind that that kind of person would be someone I love dearly.

I went inside my car, drove off to my place, it took at least a half an hour to get there, parked at my drive-way, and walk inside the house. I took my vampire costume out of my closet, put it together, and placed the peaces of the costume on my bed. I thought for a second of my costume just when I was about to take my shirt off. “Hold on, since vampires still exist now, maybe I should wear my street clothes instead..” I thought to myself, “yea, I might do that instead.” I kept my clothes on and hung my costume back in my closet.

I drove to Lily's house an hour later, knocked on the door, then Lily answers the door a minute later. “Hey, Love,” Lily said sweetly and gave me a kiss. “How do I look?” she asked me. I took a step back and examined her outfit. She had jet black make-up lipstick with black eyeliner and purple eye shadow, she wore a jet black spaghetti top, a black cross necklace, small black see-through gloves, a short black plaid skirt with ripped black stalking under it, “Wow, she's hot in this,” I thought as my face turned pink. “Totally speechless Lily. I mean.....” I hesitated as my face turned red. “You're so cute,” she said with a smile. “I'm guessing you decided to wear normal clothes because vampires wear street clothes today, right?” she asked me. “Yep, you read my mind,” I answered to her.

“May I escort my fair lady to her carriage?” I asked like a gentleman as I raised my left hand in front of my chest. “Yes, you may,” Lily said sweetly and gracefully placed her hand on my hand. I placed my right hand around her waist as I walked her to my BMW. I opened the door for her, she took the passenger's seat and sat on the chair as if she was as light as a feather, then I slammed the door for her. I took my seat on the drivers seat and started the engine. Lily leaned in to kiss me on the cheek and whispered in my ear, “I love you so much.” I glanced at her and looked into her emerald green eyes, “I love you too,” and kissed her softly on her lips.

I start driving in reverse, then began driving towards the school. On our way to the school, I asked Lily if she could tell me what her training obstacles were in her summer. She told me it was hard, but that it payed off when she started hunting for all the dangerous and most wanted vampires there. When we were about 5 minutes away from the school, we talked about if the party would be better this year or not, later on we saw that there was a huge line to the parking lot of the school. “Well, at least we're not the only ones who are going to be here early,” I said to her while checking out the lines to the school and the line of people getting inside the gym.

We got the parking lot easily, I was about to park at the back, but some students stopped us to tell us that theres a reserved parking spot for Lily and I, so I parked at that spot instead. I opened the door for Lily and escorted her to the gym. We walked through the door and Samantha and her friends jumped at us and scared us. “My Goodness Samantha! Do you always have to do that whenever Tom and I come in a few minutes after you?” Lily said trying to catch her breathe. “Uh huh!” Samantha said cheerfully. “Awesome decorations guys, it's better than last year's decorations,” Samantha complimented. Samantha felt a problem in my energy wave and saw that my hand was injured, “I'm guessing you got hurt during decorating, right?” Samantha said correctly.

Samantha took a look at Lily and said, “theres something different about you, Lily. Something thats not the same with you.” “I have no comment, you probably were around too many people,” Lily said to Samantha. “No.....somethings different with you....your aura is different today,” Samantha said in a grim look. “Umm......ok well-” I interrupted Lily and said “She's just a little nervous. You know hoping the decorations would be better, hoping that her outfit isn't too revealing, and being a little stressed out.” “Hm, it might be something like that, or it might be something else,” Samantha said while scratching her head. “Ah, go on and eat each other's faces, just not in front of me or here,” Samantha said with a smile.

“Ok, we'll see you later Samantha,” I said to her. Lily and I waved to her good bye and walked off to the exit. We walked through the door while holding hands and watched the stars. We stopped and took a seat on one of the benches and stared at each other's eyes. “I love you....” I said to her softly while caressing her cheek. “I love you too....” she said back to me. I leaned in and kissed her softly while hugging her her waist. I leaned in closer to kiss her shoulder, she kisses me on the neck softly, then stopped. “Lily what is it?” I asked her. “Oh, sorry....I'm just a little sleepy,” she answered. “Ok....” I said quietly, then went back to kissing her again. I stopped and hugged her close to me, she did seem a little tired, and next thing I knew, something bit me on my neck.

Chapter 3: More Attacks...

My neck bled as a vampire bit me. He took his fangs off me, held me by my shoulders, and licked the blood off his lips “Your blood tastes good. Let me eat you up,” the mad vampire said to me.

“Another ex-human mad vampire,” Lily said seriously. The mad vampire slowly turns his head and stares at Lily

“You are not human . . .” he said with a hiss. I was half unconscious when I was listening to the conversation

“This vampire guy said that Lily's not human like the other one from yesterday. What is with all of them? Do they think Vampire Hunters don't exist anymore?” I thought as I was close to unconsciousness, but stayed awake for all of it.

“I . . . want to . . . become all vampire . . . let me drink your blood you filthy half breed . . .” the vampire hissed at Lily. He let go of me and let me fall to the ground with a thud. I couldn't move my body to help Lily, I watched the vampire slowly walk over to Lily stretching his arms out to sink his long nails in her arms. When he was about to touch her, Lily said as she pointed a black gun at the vampires heart, “my blood isn't yours to drink, my blood belongs to no one's,” and pulled the trigger. Dark red blood rained on me when the bullet went through his heart, the vampire keeled down and fell on his face, I slowly lost consciousness and blacked out.

But while I was unconscious, the vampire slowly looked up at Lily and said, “you traitorous filthy halfbreed. Everyone in the dark realm will know that you're still siding with the humans. You filthy halfbreed of a vampire!!” he screamed. Lily made a cold smile and pointed her gun at his head.

“I'm happy siding with the humans, you are not the boss of me, and you're one to talk you low life of an ex-human vampire. I may be an ex-human vampire myself, but at least I'm not lusting for blood and not about to die to two seconds,” Lily said to him with the same cold smile and shot at his head.

I woke up later and found myself in my room with Lily sleeping at my bedside. I sit up and felt the bite marks on my neck. I looked at Lily at pat her on her head. She slowly opened her eyes and saw that I was awake. “Hello Love,” she said to me sweetly. She sat up, rubbed her eyes, and yawned, then looked at me with a sleepy look.

“What time is it?” I asked her.

“It's 4 in the afternoon on November 1st,” she answered me.

“What happened to the vampire last night?” I asked her. “I remember that you shot him through his heart, did anything else happen when I blacked out?” I asked her.

“He died, I shot him twice,” she answered me. “Tom, I will protect you, I'll make sure that no one bites you,” she said after her answer.

I smiled at her and caressed her cheek. “I'm happy that you're willing to protect me, but now I feel useless to you,” I complained like a child. Lily giggled, pat me on the shoulder, and smiled at me.

“Don't feel that way. You already did your job,” she said.

“I did? What did I do?” I asked her confusingly.

“Your soul led me to you, your soul wanted to protect me from everyone in the popular group. You already helped me and I love you for that,” Lily said to me with a smile, “I'm repaying you back for saving my life.”

“I . . . I don't know what to say Lily. But . . . I do love you. I have always dreamed of finding a girl like you to become friends with, you caught me off-guard when I fell in love with you,” I told her.

Lily smiles at me and kisses me on the holes of my neck. “That mark will go away soon, and you don't have to worry about turning into a vampire. That guy last night was an ex-human vampire, if that kind of race bites you, nothing will happen. If the vampire that bit you was a pure vampire, then you'd turn into an ex-human vampire,” Lily explained to me.

“Ok, thats good. I don't want to be home schooled so I could be away from you,” I told Lily and gave her a hug.

“I don't want you to be away either, it would feel to weird that you wouldn't be around to make Samantha and I laugh,” Lily said and gave me a hug. “I have to go now, I never called my parents last night, they must be worried about me,” Lily told me. She stands up, kisses me on my head, and walks out the door.

I touch the bite marks on my neck softly and felt that most of the skin is already covering the wound. “Lily's right, the wound is healing faster,” I said.

Lily opens her cell phone and calls her parents. Her parents answer the phone and responded “Lily? Lily are you ok? What happened last night?”

“It's alright mom, I'm fine. There was a vampire attack last night and he bit Tom. I had to stay with him to explain what class that vampire was in. I got worried, I wanted to stay with and see if he'll be alright,” Lily told her mother.

“Lily . . . did you tell him? That—”

“No . . . I don't want to tell him yet.”

Lily's mother was silent for a minute. “You'll have to tell him soon. He may understand.”

“That's what I'm scared of . . . what if he won't understand?” Lily asked.

“It's worth a shot once you try it . . .” her mother told her, “I'll see you at home.” She hung up, Lily closed her phone and stares at the ground for a while. She breaks her trance and comes through my bedroom door.

“My mother says I can go home anytime,” Lily told me.

“Ok thats great. Was she worried?” I asked Lily.

“Yea, she was worried,” Lily answered me.

“Hey, do you want to go out for breakfast?” I asked her. Lily looks at me and smiles at me.

“Yea, I haven't eaten since yesterday, so I'm starving,” she said while placing her hand on her stomach. I laughed as she made a face like she was about to faint. I get out of bed, walk over to her, hugged her close to me.

“I don't want you to faint of starvation, you're already doing that with your diet,” I told her.

“I want to lose weight, I'm too fat,” Lily said.

“You're not fat!!! You can fit in size nine pants, and you wear shirts in a small,” I told her as I looked at her.

“I'm fat, and I'm on a diet. You're not the boss of me of what I eat,” she told me.

I looked at her seriously and held her hand. “Wait for me downstairs. I'm gonna get dressed then I'll drive you to the Olive Garden,” I told her.

“Yay,” she said cheerfully. She went through the door and closed it on her way. I got over to my closet and went through all my shirts and pants. I chose a black shirt with a cross on it and navy blue jeans with it. I put my belt through the hoops of my jeans and chose converse for comfortable walks. I walk downstairs and see Lily reading 'Angel Sanctuary,' patiently on the couch.

“Hey Love, I'm ready,” I told her as I came down the stairs. Lily looks up and stares at me.

“You look great Love,” she told me.

“Is that why you're still with me? Because I look great?” I asked her teasingly.

Lily giggles and responds, “no, I'm still with you because you're sweet and very charming. I wish every man in the world would be like you. All you men should know that women find sensitivity, charms, and a gentleman in every man,” Lily told me as she was touching my chest.

“Are you serious? Is that what you girls think?” I asked her.

“Yes . . . that’s what we think!” she responded. “But I chose you . . . doesn't that matter?” Lily asked me looking cute as she looks into my eyes.

I smile at her and wrap my arms around her waist, “It does . . . and are you trying to look cute so you could get a kiss from me?” I asked her. Lily smiles and sways her arms slowly.

“Maybe,” she said cutely. I stare at her and laugh

“Man, you're too adorable! You suck when you look cute and act cute!”

“I know . . . that’s why I keep doing it,” she said. I come close to her face and kiss her softly.

Lily's cell phone rings as we kissed. “Hold on Love,” Lily said as she was going through her purse.

“Aww . . . can't I get one last kiss?” I pretended to complain. Lily giggles and kisses me.

She answers her phone with a “Hello?” Her phone call went on for nearly half an hour as I waited for her to end her call and when her phone call was over, she came into the room with tears in her eyes. “Lily what’s wrong?” I asked her as I came up to her to give her a hug.

“I'm sorry Tom . . . that was my mother just now. I got into that school I wanted to go to,” she said as her tears were absorbed into my shirt.

“Thats great, are you crying for happiness?” I asked her as I patted her head.

“I'm crying for happiness and sadness,” she responded.

“Why are you sad?” I asked her.

“The school I'm going to is across the ocean from here . . .” she said.

I was silent for a few minutes while Lily was crying. We both look at each other in silence.

“Are you serious?” I asked her. “Are you seriously gonna go away?” I asked her.

“Yes . . . I am. I have to. I've been wanting to go to this school for a while now,” Lily said.

“Lily don't go . . . I don't want you to go!” I told her, gripping onto her shoulders tightly. Lily looks down as another tear came down from her eyes.

“I'm sorry . . . I have to go. I want to go, but at the same time I don't want to leave you!” she screamed. She goes down to her knees as she stares at the ground. “I don't know what to do . . . I worked so hard to get into that school that it paid off. But I thought I wasn't good enough to go in, so I lived my school life with no care in the world, with no worries of leaving you. And now . . . I'm able to go in . . . and leave you . . .” she said in sadness.

I go down on my knees and push her hair away from her face. “I don't want you to leave, so . . .” I was silent, hoping I won't regret my decision, “so you should go.”

Lily looks at me as her tears were dropping off her cheek. “Tom . . .”

“No, you should go. You worked hard to get to your school. So you should go . . .” I told her. She threw herself at me and gave me a hug

“Thank you Tom . . .” I was silent and hugged her back softly.

“I love you Lily . . . don't give up your work for me. I want you to have a future for yourself,” I told her as tears came down my cheeks. I closed my eyes as I kissed her cheek softly. I took her left hand and took a ring out of my pocket. I placed the ring in her engagement finger and told her, “When we're old enough and when you have a scholarship . . . will you marry me?”

Lily covered her mouth with surprise. “Tom . . . I don't know what to say,” she told me.

“I just want to know what your answer will be. I want you to reject me or accept me right now . . . in my house.” I told her.

Lily stayed silent as she stared at me, “I will . . . I'll marry you when I come back,” she told be with a sweet smile.

I hugged her close to me and kissed her lips. “Thank you Lily . . .” I whispered in her ear. “When are you leaving?” I asked her.

Lily was quiet and answered, “I'm leaving tonight.”

“Tonight!?” I screamed.

“The next semester starts tomorrow, it's best that I leave tonight than start late . . .” Lily said. I stared at Lily as she looked away from me.

“Lily . . .” I said quietly.

“I have another four hours before I leave for Cross Academy, so do you want to do?” she asked me.

I smiled and answered, “How about we go to dinner, I made reservations for tonight.” Lily smiled at me as she wiped the tears off me.

“I think that’s very sweet of you, so we'll go,” she answered.

Our dinner was romantic like all our dates were. We shared the spaghetti dinner, kissed each other if the same strand of a noodle was caught in our forks. We talked about everything, reminding each other what we did in elementary school, telling Lily how strong my feelings were for her in the 6th grade, we even talked about our future together once we got married. We had no care in the world during our date until we looked at the time to see that Lily has an hour left of staying in Seattle with me. “My mother is packing up my things for me and it only takes a half an hour to get to the air port,” Lily told me. I stared at her as she kept her smile and showing no sadness, I threw myself at her and french kissed her softly. When our lips broke apart, we stared at each other for a while and frenched again.

When the time came, I drove her to the air port. When we reached to her plane, I took her hand and told her, “I love you so much. I want to live the rest of my life with you, so don't let other guys take advantage of your kindness.”

Lily looks back at me with a smile and a tear drop, “thank you Tom, I love you too . . . so much. I'm grateful that you're trying to protect me, I'll take care of myself for you. Like I told you . . . you saved my life, so you already did your job of protecting me. So I'll protect you and I'll protect myself for you,” she told me. She gave me a hug and a kiss good-bye.
“Ten minutes before the plane leaves,” The intercom said.

“Lily McArthur?” a voice called. We looked at the person who called her name. He was tall, had long black hair, a handsome face, and wore a white uniform with black lines on them.

“Yes, I'm Lily,” Lily answered.

“I'm Kaname, I'm the president of the class you will take place in,” Kaname told Lily.

“Lily . . . be sure to protect yourself. Don't let men take advantage of your kindness,” I told her seriously.

“Don't worry Tom, I'll be fine. And you're jealous of Kaname, you don't have to worry, I'm not interested in him,” Lily told me with a smile.

I gave her one last hug, “I know . . . I'm just worried about you already.” I locked eyes with her and kissed her one last time.

“Now don't let girls take advantage of your sweetness,” Lily said with a smile. She let go and walked away from me. “I'll always love you,” she told me as a tear came down from her eyes.

Kaname holds Lily by the side of her shoulders and said, “I'll take care of her for you Tom. She'll be in good hands with me and all the upperclassmen. I'm really looking forward to being class with her.”

I glared at him and looked at Lily. “Take care Love . . . I'll be waiting for you,” I said as I reached my hand out to her. Lily reached her hand out to me and responded, “I'll be waiting for you too. I will come back . . . I'll keep our promise. I will marry you when I come home.”

Lily walks away with Kaname and to the plane. I went to the window to watch the plane take off. “I'll wait for you . . .” I said quietly. Tears came down my cheeks as the plane started moving. When the plane flew off the ground, I stared at the ground with my head placed to the window and tears falling to the ground.

Kaname looks at Lily as Lily stared out the window into the sky. “You seem to have a strong relationship with him. Have you told him?” Kaname asked Lily.

Lily was quiet and answered, “Not yet . . . I haven't told him.”

“I thought you trusted him with all your heart, but seeing you didn't tell him . . . seems like you don't trust him at all,” Kaname laughed.

Lily looked serious and told Kaname, “I'm scared of how he would react . . . scared to tell him I'm a vampire. And too scared to tell him that I'm going to stay in a dormitory full of vampires.”

“What is it you told him then?” Kaname asked her.

“I told him that I'm going to a school for Vampire Hunters,” Lily answered.

“Oh, so you lied to him,” Kaname said as he was a bout to read a book.

“He loves vampires, I just don't know if his feelings for me are gonna be the same once I tell him. I dunno if he'll love me for what creature I am,” Lily said.

Cool. Although I didn't see any hints of the VK manga canon until ch.3.... when are Yuki and Zero gonna show up (if they do)? <3 I plan on writing a Vampire Knight fic myself (be warned though, it has MASSIVE SPOILERS for those who haven't read one of the summer Shojo Beat magazines the chapter the fic is based on was serialized in.....it was one of the Summer SB Issues I think....the cover advertises the latest chapter at that time as "Thrice Bitten"...who it was, you'll find out soon) Continue! <3
