WARNING: SOME BBS SPOILERS.
Aren't required to read to understand the actual point of this thread, though.

So, I'm pretty sure everyone knows that I hate Kairi. Extremely. And so, here I will go with my second Kairi topic this week and suggest something I think could be a good and bad idea.

KH3 - A Kairi Scenario.

Yes, I know she has no confirmed weapon. Yes, I know she pretty much isn't that great at fighting and only had a one time experience. And you know what? I'm gonna suggest it anyway. Why? Let's face it, the only way I think Kairi will ever have good character development, good writing on her character, and be just as great as Namine, Xion or Aqua were, is by getting some light shed on her in KH3 besides probably just staying on the islands painting her toenails.

So, if we were to have such a thing, what would Kairi use? Would she just jack Riku's Gayblade again (bad idea, by the way SE.) Personally, I'd rather her actually tap into her PoH powers and use that, and maybe even actually gain a Keyblade threw such since even though Kairi's a dick, it's pretty obvious her heart would be strong enough to bring one to her.

Now, on to why she could be relevant to the actual story or even drawn in. Firstly, from the BbS secret ending
It pretty much spells out Sora is leaving behind Kairi.
So how would she even travel around or even leave the islands?
Well, first of all, she's a PoH, so wouldn't it be possible she could open a portal of light or even a portal like in BbS only without being like a Power Ranger?
Now, why she would get involved:
-Some other worldly thing calls for her help
-Mickey contacts her
-A prophetic dream about Riku or Sora being in grave danger and needing her help
-Vanitas (resurrected/brought back) coming to the islands and making Kairi think Sora's gone evil.
-Anything besides being kidnapped for the fifth time.
So, she basically leaves the islands and visits worlds like Sora would trying to catch up to her friends, find Sora and Riku, I dunno.

Oh, and here's where things could get interesting:
-Light-blinded Kairi (hi Smile)
Basically Kairi, by some event or brainwashing from one of the Villains, her heart becomes blinded by the very light it's engulfed in and she starts destroying everything and anything with darkness in it - meaning people, as well. Hell, maybe even when Xehanort returns he tries convincing her that he wants to become "pure" by using Kingdom Hearts and have a "Ventus" happen to Sora to
bring back Vanitas and, oh hey, the X Blade!trying to make her think he just wants Sora to be pure while he's really being a dick and trying to get his own selfish goals.

Hell, I dunno, I just want Kairi to actually be a useful, good, relevant character because honestly the "so-called" lead girl of KH should be.

Anyway, flame away.

It'd be nice if she would be more useful but I kinda doubt it. She's hasn't been useful before so she probably won't ever be.

I agree. It would be nice if she was at least a little useful but her attempst at doing that have failed horribly. So unless she can pull something out of her ass and make a comeback, Nomura is better off without her.

Nomura will most likely show a little bit more of Kairi in KH3, and he might even involve her in Sora's "quest". But, either way, I really hope he doesn't. It would make the series worse, in my opinion.

As much as I'd hate to say it, if KH3 goes a similar route to BBS, I see a chance of this happening.. or at least Sora and Riku both getting their own scenarios. Personally, I feel that Riku deserves the primary protagonist spot as well. (i.e. playable character in the game) Then again, I was kind of thinking that the third person might end being Aqua instead. (Call me crazy, but I was thinking that maybe Ansem and her get saved earlier on in the game than many think she will be.. or at least long before Ven and Terra.) Who knows? Maybe, we'll have four/ five scenarios. After all, this is KH3 we're talking about.. and if it has to be a PS3 game. It might as well go all out. Then, there's the reusing cutscenes, but changing the perspective part.

And anyway, no one is saying Kairi has to be playable. It's a good theory, I like it. It would be nice if Kairi would actually get "used" while kidnapped, if kidnapped again at all.

This is because I hate her, and she'll never be able to match up to Aqua, but it seems like something will happen to cause her to gain 1337 skillz. And if that happens... D:<

It's okay with me if Kairi just has white magicks like Queen Minnie does, but nothing beyond that.

But my personal feelings of Kairi aside, I really like your theory. Seems quite possible.

I'm just hoping SE realizes how bad they have done with Kairi so far. I think they should just get Watanabe to write her since I doubt she would be as bad as in KH1 and KH2. And keep Nojima the hell away from the game script.

While I think they easily could have kept Kairi out, or even used another character, she's not going away anytime soon. So we're stuck with her, and that's why I hope they do something useful with her this time.

Personally, I think it would make it better. What's better, Kairi staying on an island getting kidnapped and repeating what she did last time, or being like Xion or Aqua and actually doing stuff.

Yeah his logic seems ugh. Xion was a plot device, but a hell of a good one. And a yaoi shield that actually worked unlike Kairi.

Well, I would just prefer it if she didn't get kidnapped but drawn out of the islands. Because the Zelda-syndrome is starting to get old for Kairi. Especially since in KH2 it happened more than once.

Well, I really hate Kairi, but her character does have a lot of potential and could be made into a good one. Hence why I want her to become usable.

Except that fact that, oh I don't know, she was one of the reasons Roxas left the Organization. Oh, and not to mention she shows how Roxas got dual wielding, actually had great character development and didn't act like a Nobody who was just born (hi Roxas) and tried keeping Axel and Roxas together. Seriously if you think she brought nothing to the game you have to go replay it then again.

And yet it's very possible they could come back. Look at the Sora-Namine situation. He remembered her after forgetting. Who's to say Riku or Sora won't remember Xion? And besides, how would not remembering a character make her a Mary Sue?

And again, she wasn't. She's one of the only useful girls who's had actual character development. If anything she ranks just below Aqua. She showed emotions, didn't wait for some boy to come save her, and did want she wanted to.

2) riku teaches her how to use a keyblade or use her light as a weapon
3) (hope this hapens) The game will have 3 scenarios i)Sora, ii)Riku(obtained after completing Sora´s story),
iii)Aqua( obtained after finshing Riku´s story) and Kairi appear in the 3 scenarios to somehow help you.

Kairi gives Sora her blessing by giving him the good luck charm. It definitely does not entail her going with him.

However, I agree that KH's front woman should be a little more useful. But if Kairi goes badass on everyone, she'd have darkness in her heart. Are PoH even allowed to hate? If darkness gets in her heart, she wouldn't be a PoH. So if KH3 has Kairi going ballistic on villan, then they'd also follow the story of her losing her PoH status.
