I haven't posted art in a long time, but now that my art classes are over, I can at least show what I've been working on for the past few months or so.
One of the assignments I had to work on was painting designs onto furniture. I chose a simple wooden chair and I decided to paint fruits on the seat of the chair so it could be placed in our kitchen when done. 8D
I've only completely finished two out of the four fruits on the chair, the other two are WIPs.

So yeah, I'd much appreciate some CnC on the orange. The texture was much different from the other fruits I was painting and I thought it looked weird while I was trying to finish it up so I left it and continued on.
And, I am writing the fruit names in Italian, but I only got to the apple for now, however the other names are lightly etched in pencil.
So yes~ : D

One of my sisters actually does that kind of stuff in her free time and I've always wanted to try something like it.

I'm liking the painting process so far, the blending is nicely done and I-oh-so-envy your painting skills right now. xD As for the orange, I think you're heading in the right direction when I look at the top of it where you have some of the details as of now. To me the hardest part of drawing an orange is the little indents the actual fruit has, so the way you're painting them on there is giving off that effect actually. And it's not looking weird at all, I think if you keep doing what you're doing with it it'll look pretty good.

Can't wait to see the finished product. By the way, what type of paint did you use? If you don't mind me asking.

You should totally try it, I had such a wonderful time painting this~

Yeah, the little grooves in the orange skin were a pain to put into the painting. Definently the most challenging of the four of them, but thank you Raynie, I'll continue in that direction.

And, I used acrylic paints. They're really the only paint medium I've used, but they're so wonderful when it comes to blending and mixing.

Ah, got it, I think I have some acrylics laying around... somewhere. Probably one of the only type of paints I don't have much trouble with, so yay. And no problem at all.

Wow, this is very good. I like how you painted everything.
The way you implemented the colors, and collided them is
brilliant(such as the pear with the bit of red). My only
concern is the orange, only because it doesn't too much like
an orange, but all is good overall. Oh, and i especially love the
grapes. The value is very good.

The orange I'm going to try and finish up next week, I need to see how the end result will be like. I'll be sure to post it up here when I'm finished.

And if it is, my apologies, otherwise, I like how you mixed the colors and also how you painted each of them and it has a crisp and or smooth-delicate-colored-tasty-like feel to it and the colors flow really well, imo. I really like it. And yes, like what you said about the orange, I would agree as to finish it, otherwise, it's really good. Can't wait to see the final results!

Getting the right color for the orange was difficult. I had to mix red and yellow to make the orange because there was no actual orange acrylic available. I'd make an orange color one day, it'd dry up, I had to make a new one and it was never the same, and so on. So yeah, the color is kind of 'off' from the model I used, I never quite got it right, but that's as close as I could get. xD
