What is bad about the No Child Left Behind Policy? From what I read of it, either the tests are hard that children aren't passing or that there's high amount of 'immigrants' in schools who don't have English as a first language. I'd chalk that down to a failing education system, which is in dire need of revamping (we've been using this system since the 1800s and it's clear it's failing now.)

Well I only got a quick second, but the NCLB basically put a lot of tight constraints on the teachers. I remember before I left high school basically the teachers had to cater to those 4 major areas the most English, Math, Science, and well I don't about history lol. It just put so much stress on them cause you know and I know some kids are just going to be stupid. That's not to be mean, but you know some kids just never cared when going through the school system.

This law was one of those looked great on paper, but not funded correctly, and not implemented the correct way either, and honestly never checked on.

What is bad about the No Child Left Behind Policy?

It largely attributes success by standardized test scores. Basically encourages teachers to teach to the test rather than do anything substantive. Itt: forgetting everything you learned after the test because you didn't learn anything, you just memorized it.

It's something that creates a hollow success. Something that could easily be used in a campaign to say that "I've done good things in education."

But yeah, mad props to this guy for it.

Basically more or less Shamdeo has it right.

You can fail a test or even pass a test, but yet at the end of the day were you really that good or that bad? I can tell you right now that some people based on my own experiences were worse off then what that number said on a paper.
