No matter what we're playing, reading, or watching, there are always small details that we can't help but really love or really hate. These things don't tend to be much on their own, and they don't tend to effect your opinion on the grand whole that much, but whenever you do notice it you can't help but smile a little bit or just grit your teeth. So, now that we've all had a chance to enjoy II.5 thoroughly, what are the little nitpicks that really bug you or the small details that you can't help but love?

My nitpicks:
*Roxas's being the only one that wears his hood during his battle. I don't know why, but the fact that we don't see Roxas's face even once during his moment of awesomeness. I mean, I understand why he had to have it on for the story battle, but couldn't it at least been put down for the Data Rematch?
*All the censorships
*Atlantica's plot holes. Seriously, Ariel, did you completely forget who Ursula was and what happened last time you struck up a deal with her? And for that matter, why the hell aren't you still dead, Ursula. I mean, everyone else's return was explained, how are you back?
*Aqua's escort mission for Jaq. "Jaq, don't lose that key" Why not? You have a frikkin' Keyblade. Do you mean to tell me you couldn't get Cinderella out without the key Jaq was holding?

My little Things:
*Xigbar's sniper rifle. So glad we finally got to see this. I always thought it was one of the coolest thing about Xigbar's guns and I have no idea why they thought it should be censored.

For the most part I agree with you, there's one point though:

*Aqua's escort mission for Jaq. "Jaq, don't lose that key" Why not? You have a frikkin' Keyblade. Do you mean to tell me you couldn't get Cinderella out without the key Jaq was holding?

This one makes more sense, Aqua's not supposed to interfere too much with the order of the worlds. Every other Keyblader doesn't seem to gaf as far as that goes, Cinderella is supposed to rescue herself.

Also, The Fairy Godmother warns Aqua that confronting the darkness the way she had wouldn't do much good in this case, hitting the darkness head on with the light of the Keyblade would only create more darkness...though it doesn't end up mattering since Lady Tremaine still summons that Unversed and forces Aqua to show her hand.

I'm not sure if this is really a little thing, but other than Atlantica, I think another annoying world in KH2 was Pride Lands. Not for the gameplay, but mainly for the plot. Every world in the game, for at least one visit has SOMETHING to do with the overarching narrative, but this has none. Pete shows up, but he doesn't even do anything.

Another thing is Simba and Nala have the absolute worst voice acting I've heard in the series. It's painful to listen to.

It makes it all too tempting to skip scenes.

*The controversy before BbS's release over Aqua's outfit showing too much skin.
Yet, Ariel can get away with wearing nothing more than clam shells.

In BbS the garden area is only accessible to Aqua and Ven and there's a high platform that only Aqua can reach where you fight the Trinity Armour. Using certain Shot Locks I can get Terra onto that platform, but I still can't access the garden. :(

I wasted half an hour of my life but I still felt damn proud.

"HAH! Take that game developers! You can't stop Torrential Terra!"

It makes it all too tempting to skip scenes.

*The controversy before BbS's release over Aqua's outfit showing too much skin.
Yet, Ariel can get away with wearing nothing more than clam shells.

Now, to be fair...this controversy is completely made up.

- Not sure if this counts, but I like when they create iconic locations from the movies. For instance, the outside of the Evil Queen's palace where Snow White sing at the well, the palace in Castle of Dreams, Moonlit Hill from Halloween Town, the Parlor in Beast's Castle, Hades’ throne room, etc. They actually don’t happen that often because most of the environments are changed from the films or newly created for the games.
- "Dearly Beloved" being slightly altered for every game.
- Hades' dialogue. It's one of the few cases where they've somewhat managed to keep some of the humor for one of the Disney characters. Genie and Mushu haven’t worked for me.
- The models for Eric and Scar are so incredibly off. Scar looks like plastic, well, more like a melting pancake when he moves; Eric looks like he went on a major diet, with the bone/muscle loss. Ariel isn’t that great either, with her meat hook fingers.
- Donald’s voice during battles just kills me.
- The way Mulan builds in strength during The Land of Dragons episodes. It feels like she suddenly gets stronger once she takes off her disguise as a man, which I thought was a nice touch. They did something similar with TRON.
- The flashback of Jafar in Agrabah with him laughing makes me crack up every time.
- Certain line-readings, like when Jasmine says hello to Sora, Donald, and Goofy, the voice actress sounds really odd. Another one is Jack at the end of the 1st visit to Halloween Town, when he makes that OTT speech about being the Pumpkin King and then the Mayor with his weird voice and finger wag, “I’ve been looking for you everywhere!” It makes me cringe. Tbh, the 2nd ending to Halloween Town with Sally, “What’s really special…yadda yadda…Just to be with you!” makes me cringe, too. “Finny fun” wins the cringing game though.
- When Sora, Donald, and Goofy try to stop Ariel’s deal with Ursula and all Ursula does the, “UGH!” LOL Atlantica is full of these moments in KH2.
- As a minigame world, I liked the way they had you power up as the games along to see the next parts of the story at Atlantica. I think they should follow that format for any future minigame worlds, no need to use torn pages for 100 Acre Wood.
- The part in Port Royal when Jack has all his abilities unequipped. I tend not to use him in that world, so I always forget he doesn’t have his abilities equipped until the worst possible moment.

Ruran's right. People tend to throw out all that bogus nonsense about Aqua's design being censored, but her original corset didn't make a lick of sense. It's best to accept that Nomura decided to change it to something more practical on his own rather than believing that he was forced to by Disney.

Characters noticing/pointing out things before they appear/show. Of all trivial irks, this one really bothers me a lot.

Oh man the things I could list. :frown:

Roxas' part in KH2. It just feels like such a chore. I wish there was a skip option to go straight to Sora like how BBS had a skip tutorial.

That's not possible, since Roxas's part is where you choose the Sword/Staff/Shield, and it's also required to get a lot of the beginning abilities.

I know it's not but the first post was asking what my nitpicks were. Since I can't skip it, it is my nitpick.

This is a gameplay mechanic nitpick, but I hate that you can't just hit "Retry" in KH2. You have to go back to some dumb point and traverse to where you were again.

It's worse than when in KH1 you HAD to watch the whole "It is I, Ansem, the Seeker of Darkness" scene after Riku II killed you.

One weird nitpick of mine is how Donald, out of the clear blue, brings up Kairi in the Pride Lands when you first arrive and talk to Donald when he's transformed. "If Kairi saw you like this, I bet she'd think you were cute!" WHY DOES HE THINK THIS? WHERE DID THIS EVEN COME FROM??? Was it because Kairi just got kidnapped by Axel in TWTN? Kairi is never mentioned before or after this in this world by any character so it just bugs me.

A little thing I love is how Auron, whenever he leaves your party because of the story, will give back all of the stuff you equip on him and even items he had on him coming into the party. I can easily envision Auron just shoving crap into Sora's arms saying "Take it. You'll need it more than me."

THIS. God this pisses me off so much in KH2. "Look at that!" *audience stares at nothing forever* I love that they have 100% improved on that in all games after KH2 xD

I forgot about that, and it happened quite a bit. It also happened in the re-make of Chain of Memories, too, from what I remember. Like when Mickey gasps at something unknown, then they show Riku fall to the ground to explain the gasp. Odd.

On a similar note, it bugs me that the default option in BBS is "Continue," not "Retry," though I'm sure this isn't true for everyone.

A few other gameplay nitpicks, and in the spirit of the term "nitpick" I'm only going to name problems that would be easy to fix:

Quick-cast using the O button seems like it should have been back-ported to KH1 in 1.5.

The stupid, stupid Pink Agaricus problem in 1.5, where Triangle is both the special attack and "call your friends" button.

Not being able to bookmark a spot in your deck in CoM, only a card, meaning you lose your bookmark if you lose the card.

BBS' save files should probably get a mark if they qualify for the secret ending. It's a really confusing process to tell what's wrong if you don't get the secret ending, especially if you're playing on different difficulties.

Then almost as if out of spite BbS goes and does the OPPOSITE by having Terra react late to Xehanort destroying LoD.

*LoD falling apart*

Terra: *processing...processing...processing*...OH SHIT!

Although I find it more lulzy than anything. XD

(Here's some thoughts now that I'm up to the second Space Paranoids visit)

As I said in the other thread, the whole Atlantica plothole with Ursula tops my list. Some others...

*The whole Saix taking Kairi from Axel not being shown and just mentioned casually my Hayner, Ollette, and Pence.

*In that same conversation about Kairi being kidnapped, Goofy says "I wonder if it was Axel" yet they haven't met him in KH2 yet and certainly should have forgotten about meeting him in Castle Oblivion. (though it makes sense if you were supposed to do that Twilight Town visit AFTER the 1000 Heartless Battle; I didn't)

*You can't customize the Shortcuts for the Limits in Limit Form (unless you can and I'm just missing something)

*Flashback to Jafar in the second visit to Agrabah shows scenes and dialogue between Jafar and Aladdin, seemingly from KH1, that never actually happened in KH1.

To be fair, they had just heard the name of Axel from Saïx earlier in the Sandlot, so it would make sense that they had his name fresh in their minds. The rest I agree with though

Demyx's water being weak to fire because apparently it's classified as ice, since there is no water element in KH2. That being said did anyone actually focus on the resistance stats? I don't think there wasn't that much depth that could have been put in to it.

That makes more sense. Thanks for pointing that out!
