(NEW YORK, January 8th 2011) – As we get closer to the release of KINGDOM HEARTS Re:Coded, it may be wise to take a quick look at some reviews regarding this new title that exclusively releases for the Nintendo DS.

Nintendo Power has rated the new KINGDOM HEARTS title with a score of 8.0 out of 10 in their latest issue. The magazine called it “the best Kingdom Hearts game to yet grace a Nintendo platform”. Sounds like an achievement, right?

You may think it’s insane because some fans may argue that KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 Days was just tedious with its missions, but don’t worry! This new DS title is completely different from 358/2 Days.

So, can KINGDOM HEARTS Re:Coded makes the top games for 2011? We shall see…

I wasn't able to read it either, but I'm OK with the idea that it isn't as "tedious" to them as 358/2 Days was (though I didn't find 358/2 Days that tedious to tell the truth)...

Not really, when it's going up against CoM and Days.
CoM had a good story, but a sluggish and unengaging battle system.
Days had a pretty good battle system, but a subpar story.

Re:coded wipes the floor in terms of gameplay.
But I'm not sure I can reconcile just how bad the story is. It's enough to bog it down to the point where I'm not sure it can be considered better than CoM/Days. I guess if you're not taking that aspect seriously, then, yeah, hands down it's the best on Nintendo consoles.

100% agree with the reviewer here:
"Ultimately, where Re:coded falls on your personal Kingdom hearts quality scale will depend on whether you place more value on gameplay or story. Even with a few cool surprises at the end, Re:coded lacks the narrative depth and emotional resonance of 358/2 Days, and the whole virtual-reality setting makes Re:coded feel somewhat insignificant in the series's overall mythos. But when it comes to action, variety, and the sheer fun of obliterating Heartless with a Keyblade, Re:coded is a more-than-worthwhile entry in the beloved Kingdom Hearts saga."

Though I would beg to differ on the numerical value. I'd give it... probably a 7.

^^^ (didn't want to quote it)

I don't know too much about Re:Coded (thats how I like to go into KH games, knowing as little detail as possible storywise), but I never thought to much of Re:Coded's story to be honest. Even the plot synopsis doesn't sound that great so I'm not shocked it doesn't have a very good storyline.
