This still puts up the question if KH: DDD will get a demo available, even for Japan. A promotional video on the eShop is a good sign, but doesn't prove certainty unfortunately. Let's play the waiting game

Although I want a demo too (even here in the West), I kinda doubt it. They had the possibility of having a demo for BBS yet they decided not to release one so idk. That doesn't change the fact that I want a demo though :D

At least they should to put one of the trailers on the Nintendo E-Shop but I guess, since we haven't had an English trailer yet, that they're waiting to put one on the shop after an English trailer is released?

Re: Nintendo E-Shop Trailer High Quality

I don't expect a demo. KH has never had demos in the past minus the builds they have at game expos. While it'd be nice to have a taste of the game, I never actually hear a lot of fan outcry for a demo. If there is one, bing it on! If not, oh well.

Re: Nintendo E-Shop Trailer High Quality

I tried using 3D glasses like kupo1121 and I could sorta see the 3D. XD I mostly saw the HUD menus pop up.

Add me to the list of people who watched in 3D.Nothing really stood out. The HUD did, but nothing else really. Course, I am using glasses from Spy Kids 3.

The HUD definitely stood out the most, but I could also faintly tell the 3D when they were interacting with the DE's as well.

Re: Nintendo E-Shop Trailer High Quality

Sigh, seems like KH is getting more and more childish with every game.

I don't know if that is a joke or serious. This game seems to be quite the mindfuck, and seeing cute creatures as childish makes you seem childish. Sorry to say. You're playing Kingdom Hearts, a game with a target audience of 10 year old children and Disney fans. What the hell do you expect?

Play Versus XIII when it comes out if you're looking for something less childish.

I watched it with an extra pair of 3D glasses I saved(because you never know when you will need some lol), and yeah a few things popped out a bit but not that well.

I kinda think otherwise with Birth by Sleep. Square Enix seems to be taking a break from the seriousness into something more cheerful.

Dear god calm down militant. If I wanted to pet cuddly little animals I would play Nintendogs. Might be nice if KH took a turn into the more mature arena. Then again, I don't want KH to turn into another FF where every protagonist, antagonist and supporting character is either emo or angsty, Squeenix can't seem to get themselves out of this trap. Some middle ground might be nice between the charm that KH has and the seriousness that FF has. While KH is serious, it's not serious enough. Again, I don't want another FF though so don't go tell me to play that, I'll probably end up playing Versus anyway because the majority of the KH team is working on it, seems like the KH has a lot of potential but are being held back by Disney. And don't give me crap about not liking "cute creature" I play pokemon all t he time and I have a pet cat (she sleeps all day). I'm not that shallow but I can see when a company is trying to appeal to multiple age groups and ends up failing on both accounts. What 10 year old is going to care for a story as deep as KH when they can pet their furry little creatures instead? Oh, hardly any 10 year olds. Boys for that matter. If the game was aimed at 10 year olds all dark themes from the game would be removed and replaced with stuff you see in 4kids Pokemon. DDD is full of gimmicks to try to pull younger audiences and casual players in, it's all about the $$$. The game should be aimed at 5 year olds

What really annoys me is how they intersperse the nonsensical crap (see: 3D and furry critters) with the stuff that makes KH a good series (story and character development), pick one and stick with it. As for the Disney characters, nobody plays KH because of the Disney characters and nobody buys the sequels/prequels because of the Disney characters they do it because the story is excellent and the character development is fantastic too. If by the off chance that someone does buy a game in this series because of the Disney characters, that's definitely not the reason they're going to buy the next one (unless they're a gigantic Disney fanboy/fangirl).

Disney characters serve no purpose to the plot other than to offer their worlds forward to play on and have some sort of story that vaguely resembles what is in their Disney movie to keep some form of interest while you grind through the tedious Disney worlds to get to the real meat of the game (original KH worlds). Hardly anybody can seriously say that the sole reason they play KH is for the Disney characters.

Where will KH go after all original Disney movies have run out? Re-run the same story we have already played? Create non-canon additions to Disney's stories? Should be interesting. I just feel KH could have been much better without Disney. Don't get me wrong, some of the Disney worlds are great like Olympus Coliseum and Beasts castle but crap like Dwarf Woodlands and Atlantica? Yawn.

I just think this game is mainly aimed at a much younger demographic because it's on a Nintendo Console meant for a much more casual crowd. I hope they can get back on track with the next release, something more like BBS with it's much darker tones, that's the kind of KH I like.

But inb4 you dismiss everything I have to say and essentially called me a "hater" (I'm not btw, KH is my favourite series and KH2 my favourite game of all time and I'll probably end up buying a 3DS just to play DDD) it just brings my piss to a boil when some people are so militant they can't stand seeing any criticism of their favourite games whether it be understandable or not.

Yeah, I'm a pessimist but better to be a pessimist and be impressed when something isn't how you expect it than being an optimist and being disappointed when it's not. I just think 3D is going to be garbage like Coded was (aside from the story elements, I'll be watching the KH wiki like a hawk) but hopefully I'm wrong.

/rant

This post is probably going to seem haphazard as fuck since I kept going back and editing random paragraphs when I thought of something to say.

TL;DR: KH would be a better series if it left the fluffy immature shit at the door, dumped Disney and stopped trying to appeal to multiple different age groups by trying to incorporate a little bit of everything. I hope DDD is good but I have serious doubts (aside from the story). Thanks for reading, try not to get too mad over someone else's opinion.

I don't know what's more childish. Kingdom Hearts or you.Sorry, assburgers.

Calls me childish then insults me by saying I have Aspergers (you didn't even spell it right, good job), the irony.

You're wrong, if anything it has matured and gotten darker. Especially with BBS!
I'm sorry if KH isn't as mature as you'd like, but it's partnered with Disney. Don't expect anything too much more than E10+

The game has shown a lot of growth over the last 2 games in my opinion. Honestly, none of us thought we would get to witness someones eye get shot out with the power of darkness. This game just has a lighter tone compared to the last 3 games that have been released, just saiyan.

To be fair, Kingdom Hearts generally isn't nearly as in-your-face about the 10 year old kid appeal as the collectable neon-colored Dream Eaters are. Most of the Disney movies that appeared so far are either animated classics, '90s "renaissance" movies, or live-action films aimed at older audiences' nostalgia, rather than the kind of thing that the 10 year olds of today are into. Even Winnie the Pooh -- the movie chosen for KH with the youngest target audience -- was reworked to tell the story from a perspective closer to a parent's than anything else.

It's kind of hard to see non-threatening enemies as anything but kiddy (and while some of the Emblem Heartless and Unversed might not have been all that threatening, there were at least legitimately freaky versions of them for use in dramatically-necessary places).

At 0:16 in that video I'll finally get my money's worth in 3D effects.
