They do them at random dates for what seems to be every three months. :3

The US one in the past has been the same day (or around the same time) as the Japanese one. At this point if we are going to hear about Kingdom Hearts it will probably be on the American one.

The Nintendo Directs are every other month and aren't conferences so much as a pre-made video with stuff and announcements in it. That said they probably won't have one in June because E3 will be then.
