Well I had a loooooook around, and "obake" is just something that can shapeshift, like a spirit etc., and I believe "piero" is a play on either the word "pyro", or alternatively and much more likely, considering its clown appearance, Pierrot the "clown". I think the name Pierrot will go through to the localization, unless some form of legal issue pertaining to the name arises. So ultimately, Ghost/Spirit Clown/Pierrot would be correct anyway imo, as opposed to "monstrous".

To the best of my knowledge (I tend to follow that shit), the use of Pierrot as a name for clownlike characters is perfectly legit. There shouldn't be any problem with it, seeing as it was public domain ever ever since its origins. (16th-18th century Italian theatre for those who don't know)
So I'm expecting the name to come through, unless the localization team comes up with something they decide is a better fit.

Obake is japanese for Ghost, so yeah, it's Pierrot Ghost. Also, the other ones are "Handsome Pegasus", "Scissors Stag Beetle" and "Rhinoceratops".

Have they mentioned how we will reciece dream eaters in this game. Do we litterealy have to catch them?

For the "rare" dream eater, it's the AR card.

As for in-game, no. They have not mentioned how to capture the Spirits.

Well, to be honest, it's not all that weird is it? KH pretty much always has at least 1 rare enemy type. (Days being the exception I think) Stands to reason there'd be one here too, especially since they're obtainable as allies.

EDIT: I've been wondering how to obtain them as well.
Perhaps they drop a random item and using the item allows it as a selectable ally (similar to some summons from FF)

also is it fair to say by now you can tame all Nightmares or are there exceptions yet

No exceptions mentioned so for the time being you can assume all of them are obtainable (barring bosses probably)

eh I dont feel bad about the no bosses rule, as the general gist for DE bosses seems to be

1) take animal
2) eat fruit loops
3) barf all over it
4) make it giant
5) creativity!

the bat gets baller points for the gatling gun hands tho
