I want to practice my battling skills, and I'm quite a novice, so… Anyway, here's my character. This time, I want it to be Megaman Battle Network style.
Here is my Operator and Navi.
Operator
Name: Bowen Solanum
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Personality: Bowen's a cool guy, friendly, usually calm, and is eager to 'set balance'. That is, if there is a conflict, he'll try to resolve it if it's within his capabilities.
Appearance: He has brown well-combed hair, a gray baseball cap with a silver star at the front, brown eyes, fair skin, a grey t-shirt with the same star, denim shorts, and a leather belt with various accessories. He stands at around five feet tall and has an average build.
Bio: Bowen's a skilled NetBattler and has a decent win-loss ratio. He has a average standing in school, and has made a generous number of acquaintances, but never any real friends. He has a loving mother (named Eleanor), father (named Romero), and sister (named Artemis) who all are NetOps like him. His parents' NetNavis are 'civilian' NormalNavis, and Artemis possesses a custom NetNavi like him but is less experienced in NetBattling than her brother. Overall, he's lived a normal, average life and sees it as boring. Sometimes, he dreams of adventuring, although he never wishes to be the 'main hero', as he knows the burdens they usually bear, learning it from comics, e-books, and the like.
One day however, while browsing the Net with his Navi Acilnor, he encountered a swarm of viruses headed his way and to a public area filled with non-combatant NetNavis. Naturally, they went virus-busting. Eventually, they are confronted by a NetNavi serving an evil organization, who introduced himself as GeminiMan and offered both of them to join. Of course, upon refusing, he attacked. The battle had been very difficult, but Bowen managed to secure victory. However, because of this fight, he has since been targeted by the organization, who sent various agents in an attempt to take him down. Recurring opponents were SplashWoman, GrenadeMan, SheepMan, and (of course) GeminiMan. Not once did Bowen ever encounter the NetOps of any of the NetNavis who attacked him and Acilnor.
The attacks came once a week, but slowly rose in frequency the more he intervened with their plans, especially when the Net or other NetNavis ended up in danger. Unlike most 'heroes' he usually reads about, he doesn't always get in the bad guys' way at every opportunity or even when they strike while he's in the area, especially if the NetPolice Navis or other vigilante NetOps like him are on the case. Only when they attack him or innocents or when his survival depends on it does he strike.
So far, his family hasn't been put at risk, but they know his 'situation'. Artemis always gets angry at him whenever he lets his attackers get away even if he's capable of beating them, but is always told that he does this because to antagonize them too much would be to put his whole family in danger. He always wishes to leave the 'war' to others, only fighting when necessary. Eventually, she understands, but has been practicing NetBattling more often since then.
Navi
Name: Acilnor
Gender: Male-based
EleStyle: RecoveryShield
Appearance: Acilnor was constructed as a test run for…whatever company that provided custom NetNavis (be they Humanoid, Anthro, or Beast), and Bowen's among the lucky ones to try out their special model; the Pony model.
Acilnor's body is equine-shaped and stands at four virtual feet. he has a full grey 'tight suit' covering his whole body save for his head, which revealed his silver 'coat' and 'mane'. His helmet has a visor that shields his grey eyes when in battle, and is split into a black color scheme on the left and a white color scheme on the right, with two ridges running along the top that stop at the helmet's base. The helmet also has a hole for the 'unicorn horn' on his head that serves as the appendage that would change whenever Bowen uses a "Sword" BattleChip.
This black-half-white-half color scheme also applies for his boots covering his hooves, their soles having contrasting colors (the black boot has white soles and vice-versa). His tail is short, grey like his mane, and thick enough to conceal small items. On the flank part of his suit is a silver star, and the same symbol can be seen on both sides of Acilnor's helmet.
Other: Unlike most NetNavi models, Acilnor's Pony model doesn't have a conventional Buster. However, he can fire shots from his 'horn' that effectively substitutes for that. He can also levitate stuff within his line of sight, but his ability to do so depends on the distance and mass/data of the target object; the farther/more massive they are, the more concentration is required. Also, if the target object is sentient/mobile, he needs to put exponentially more focus if they struggle or move about.
He can still use all kinds of BattleChips, but they work differently due to his quadruped model. For example, Cannons, Spreaders, and other blaster weapons now appear as an attachment to the side of his body or on his back. MagShocks, MetGuards, and other melee non-sword weapons float directly in front of him and can be manipulated to move around his body, but can only go as far as his hooves can, which is not much.
He can also manifest plane-shaped wings from his sides with the same black-half-white-half color scheme as the rest of his body. These wings enable him to fly for moderate periods of time and while they are less sturdy than his body, they are by no means fragile.
Acilnor is an enigmatic, secluded, and obedient NetNavi, at least around other Navis. Around Bowen, his family, and their NetNavis, he's a bit sociable. He always avoids deletion of non-hostiles whenever possible. He also has a slight speech impediment that comes with his programming. Sometimes when he speaks, he has a habit of "ponifying" his words. For example, "-body" words get that portion replaced with "-pony", he says "flank" when referring to the posterior, etc. Whenever someone points this out, he apologizes and says it's in his programming.
While in the RecoveryShield Style Change, Acilnor possesses the following abilities:
Personal Shield: He can temporarily create a NetGuard-shaped shield that will appear anywhere close to his body. This shield blocks almost all kinds of attacks except gas-type attacks.
Regen: He slowly recovers health.
Healing Beam: He can fire a beam of energy from his horn that recovers his target's health, but at the temporary cost of his Regen ability.
Force Field: He can conjure a dome-shaped barrier around himself and others. He can also change its size at any time, but cannot expand it while it's under attack. Also, he's unable to move his body while creating the force field, but he can be moved by outside forces (e.g. terrain, another NetNavi).
In the RP he hails from, Acilnor has access to chips exclusive for his Model, but for fair play he won't use them. You are not allowed to use exclusive attack chips either.
This shall be our battleground: a large flat cybernetic-styled expanse, just like in the animé.
