Before you start drawing conclusions, Shadow Hearts has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with Kingdom Hearts. They may have similar names, but Shadow Hearts is a pre-Kingdom Hearts game made by Sacnoth/Nautilus. It is an RPG that involves a mode of attack called the judgment ring, but that's another story.
For those oblivious to the Koudelka/Shadow Hearts saga, here is a basic run through of the story from Koudelka - Shadow Hearts I:
Koudelka:-
Aberyswyth, Wales.
October 30th, 1905.
A young medium had rode to an old monastery on a cliff near Aberyswyth on All Hallow's Eve. She had dismounted her horse and knocked on the large gateway leading to the inside of the church. Upon recieving no answer, the medium scaled one of the walls and slid into a room in which a wounded man lay. Upon seeing the medium, the man stated:
"You're too early angel, i'm not dead yet" And pointed his gun to a presence behind the medium. The medium had slayed the monster that had attacked the man and healed him. They introducd each other as Koudelka Iasant and Edward Plunkett. Upon their travels in the spooky monastery, they enountered many demons and monsters. They also found an old couple named Odgen and Bessy Hartman who claimed to have lived here for years. A bishop with the Vatican named James O'Flaherty, who was searching for a stolen tome, had also joined Koudelka and Edward. Koudelka explained that she followed the voice of a female. The identity of this female is a troubled spirit by the name of Charlotte, who had disrupted the groups journey throughout the monastery. Once Charlotte had realised Koudelka was the one to answeer her call, she explained that a large demon had been terrorising the tourtured souls in the large chapel. This demon is a mutation of a poor soul named Elaine, who had lost her memories of her past life. The group had no choice but to free Elaine from her pain...
Shadow Hearts:-
1913
A young woman sat on a train along with several Japanese soldiers that was due to stop in Feng Tian. This girl was the daughter of a bishop, who was brutally murdered in an alleyway in Rouen, France six months prior. Several muffled screams could be heard from the carriages further down and exiting into the girl's carriage was an English gentleman dressed in black. He grabbed the acolyte and put her to sleep slaying all the guards in the carriage with the help of a small reaper. Another man had entered the scene, he was dressed in a light brown macintosh and had brown spiky hair. This 'Hero' turned out to be rather witty and was determined to take the girl back. Before blasting this Rude Hero back, he informed him that his name was Roger Bacon. The hero, who gave pursuit, followed Bacon to the roof of the train, there, they battled. Bacon won without margin yet the hero lived because of a light that shone from the pendant on the girls chest. He grabbed her and jumped off of the train.
Once the girl had awoke, she ran away in horror. the hero, trying to follow, was stopped by a voice that entered his head. this voice was very faint but mention something about 'Light and Dark re-uniting'. Once he was convinced that it was over. He ran off to save the girl. When he found her, she had fainted again. She finally woke up and gathered that he was out to help her, she introduced herself as Alice Elliot, while he did the same as Yuri Hyuga.
Our story:-
Two harmonixers, who are beings that resemble humans but can change and fuse with souls of animals/demons, like Yuri Hyuga himself, were sent to warn him about Roger Bacon while Yuri's group go to Shanghai Tower to defeat Dehuai. One named Relina, a bounty hunter from the past. She has a hard time fusing with souls as she fuses with the more aggresive souls that often want to take control of the body of the Harmonixer.
The second is a young harmonixer boy from the future named Luke. His skills are still in the 'failure means success' stage. However, if this is the case, he must be extremely successful, as he had made an extreme error during one fusion session, causing him to have similar looks to a cat.
Together, the two harmonixers search for clues to Yuri and Alice's journey to warn them of Bacon's plot.
