Okay, so, my best friend and I both like the same girl. The big thing is the fact that there are rumors going around that she likes me and despises my friend. My problem is that my friend listened to these rumors, and, he hates my guts right now.

So, what should I do?

I doubt he hates you. I think he just wants to make it look like he hates you, because of the fact that the girl he likes might hate him. So more or less, he's putting on an act.

Hah, that basically happened to me and my friend Ty. . .I won. . .then lost. . .then won and then lost. . .

Lol. . .well. . .he doesn't hate you, and if he truely does then he's not a good friend. . .

But I'm sure he doesn't, so don't sweat it, talk to him. .

Yeah, he's probably pissed because his "girlfriend" likes you. Confront him and tell him your feelings; if he's really your friend, he'll understand. If not, then too bad xD

Tell him that whoever the girl likes, the girls likes. Don't like it? Why don't you go do something to make a difference. (Basically, repair your friendship and tell him that the girl is fair game).

Ask some other people as to what you say, 'cause if he REALLY doesn't like you, saying things like the above might just drive him off a cliff. Anyways, just because she isn't his gf, it doesn't mean he can't be her friend.

Just tell him that you cannot control Cupid's arrows and that if you could change the way everything turned out that you would because your his friend. However, if he continues to hold a grudge you should continue to approach him saying your sorry, perhaps giving him a peace offering such as a Lewis and Clark medallion.
