How does one go about asking a boy to be her escort? I have no experience when it comes to these kinds of things!

How have you guys successfully asked someone out before? What should I definitely not do?

Any tips?

Don't really see why you should care but I might b
Pretty sure I spent my prom night doing something much more worthwhile (Metal Gear Solid HD collection)

But anyway you should probably just ask a boy that you're friends with, not a guy you have a crush on.

Really the boy is supposed to ask you but it doesn't matter

My mom thinks prom is an important experience for me.

But no one's going to ask me ;~; And I think most of my male friends have someone they already wanna go with.

oh boy.

I had a steady gf throughout high school, so it wasn't too tricky for me, but my best advice is just to make it special. Nobody wants to just be asked in casual conversation. Think of something creative.

As for the advice to not ask someone you have a crush on...uh, Prom is a pretty serious dance and it sets up a lot of relationships, so I have no idea why anyone would recommend that. In fact, if you're looking for an excuse to ask someone out, Prom is a great one.

I've never had a boyfriend, and we've all only been going since the start of this school year. There is someone in mind to ask to escort me, but I've never had experience and I can hardly speak to him about anything but classwork, it seems.

I lack the confidence to be very forward, unfortunately. :'c Thank you, though!

Whenever you see him ask for his number! I know it seems difficult but once you've done it you'll feel so good! From there on start building a friendship which could potentionally become more than that, just get to know him better and you'll start to open up. He might even be the one to ask you to prom! Also tell yourself you can do it, positive thinking helps a lot and it'll make you feel more confident about yourself. So just do it! I wish you the best of luck and I hope your prom will be an awesome experience! ^.^

Creativity is always fun! That's what makes prom somewhat fun when it's first announced. The week where everyone gets asked to prom is pretty funny/cute. Personally, I know my date left a joker card on my desk the first day. Then on the next day there was a baterang on my desk that read "Prom?" After class he ripped off his shirt and he had a batman shirt underneath. It was pretty adorable. Granted we're just friends, but the point is to just have fun with it!

Find out what your crush/friend likes and then use that to your advantage! There's no way they can say no! And if they do, then it's no big deal. My junior prom I went stag with a couple of my closest girl-friends and I still had a great time! You don't need a date to make prom special, just close friends, a sick ride, and a positive attitude.

wow i am corny.

Looking back on my highschool experience, the one thing I wish would have been different is that people would be more honest with each other. I know it feels hard, but when you get to be my age, it all just seems so silly. If you like someone, just be open about it, if you're afraid of rejection don't be, just think of it as casual conversation. Instead of dropping a line like "hey how's it going?" try saying, "Hey, good lookin'". It's not going to ruin your chances by just telling someone you think they are attractive. If anything it just opens up more opportunities. Being honest tears down that awkward barrier and at the very least will enable you to have more conversations beyond the words "uhh...hi".

In the case the guy is an asshole and starts avoiding you because he finds you unattractive, then trust me, you're better off without him anyway.

PS: Sorry if the advice is too late! :p
