I know Kairi being there brought him back. But where did he get a body and soul.

Thats hard for me to explain.
But heres how i Think it went down. If I remember right.
Sora got his body and soul back.
Thats why Roxas has no memories.

If sora got his body and soul back. Wouldn't Roxas seizes to exist
Just to clarify:
Sora's instincts were still in tact, so that's why he was able to control himself and not attack his friends. Also note that even though Sora had darkness in his heart (enabling to have a nobody none the less) he had very little, which also contributes to his ability of self control and awareness (to a degree).
Roxas had little to no memory of his past life since Sora was only a heartless for such a short time. The moving of memories from the heart to body and soul is a gradual process, and it was too short of a transformation for Roxas to gain his full memories.

So I was sorta right or was I wrong?
I'm still confused somewhat. Why do both have a body and soul?

Because without a soul a body is lifeless and dead (beings in general).
You need both to stay alive, speaking of nobodies. As a being in general, like Sora throughout KH1 and KH2 he was just a heart running around. How that works exactly is never explained, but if a body is involved you need a soul to give it life.

Oh. Ok. So Sora never had a body (In a magical sense) (But had one in physical sense) till they merged in KH2.
