Re: Which Final Boss has the best theme song?

Crap, sorry not enough room for days plus I dont know anything about the final boss or music. I thought Xion was the final boss.

Xion and all of her forms is the semi-final boss battle, the final actually being Riku.

Rage Awakened, Darkness of the Unknown, A Fight to the Death, 13th Anthology, Tension Rising they've all got that "Kingdom Hearts II" in them.
I think the OST of KH2 is faaaaaaar better than the one in KH1.
It has more of a character... love the piano & pipe organ combo.

You could have gathered Darkness Of The Unknown into one single choice, after all it's one track...

Re: The Official Kingdom Hearts Music Discssion Thread

I agree that the games' music is one of the most important parts of KH's presentation and that Yoko Shimomura is a fantastic composer; as a testament to this, while people criticize many aspects of CoM and KH2 unfavorably with the first game, one thing I rarely hear people complaining about is the music, which has been consistently good throughout all titles (well, people do complain about the way KH2's tracks were synthesized, but that's hardly Shimomura's fault). If any of you haven't checked out the KH piano collections or Shimomura's Drammatica album I highly recommend both (also, the latter serves to remind us that while KH might arguably be Shimomua's best work, she's done scores for other games too).

Some favorites of mine people haven't mentioned yet:

Re: The Official Kingdom Hearts Music Discssion Thread

Is there anyway to change your username without making a new account??
That is irrelevant to the topic.

KH - Dearly Beloved
CoM - All Marluxia's themes!
KH2 - A Fight To The Death
Days - Xion's boss theme (forgot its name)

Ahh, Shimomura sensei's piano renditions are superb!!! Not to mention that they are incredibly inticate!!! Oh, I love them so!!!

Faves:
Lord of the Castle
Riku - KH Piano Collection Ver.
The Other Promise - Drammatica
Dearly Beloved KhII Ver.

Kaoru Wada's work in KH is excellent as well, I hope we get to hear him in BbS

Re: The Official Kingdom Hearts Music Discssion Thread

I'm a big fan of KH music (and by association, Yoko Shimomura's work). Sometimes I find myself listening to it for hours on end. Unhealthy.

Anyway, I have quite a few faves.
-The 13th Anthology (and Deep Dive)
-Fate of the Unknown
-Hollow Bastion
-Scherzo di Notte
-Traverse Town
-KHII's Sacred Moon and its two Days versions which I thought were very interesting.
-Xion's theme (and her battle theme)
-Riku
-Kairi
-Roxas/The Other Promise
-Naminé
-Missing You

etc etc etc

And let's not forget the legendary Dearly Beloved. The idea of making a different version of the song for each game is really amazing. I'm a little disappointed that Coded didn't get one. And can't wait to hear BBS's version, as well as all the no-doubt-awesome new songs that'll be in that game. I got the first Piano Collections album, love it, and can't wait for the next one.

...Wow. Sorry about the rant.

PS. Spiritsoul, that orchestral Xion's theme is amazing. Is it fan-made?

Re: The Official Kingdom Hearts Music Discssion Thread

Is it okay if I link the KH Battle & Track List thread in the original post? I mean, we've gotten all the names now for the album, and it's released in Japan on 13 Jan 2010.

Also, I've downloaded the entire soundtrack of Kingdom Hearts, which has every piece of music from all games except 358/2 Days and, of course, Birth by Sleep. And coded, but I wouldn't think the music's any different. But, yeah; 8.8 hours of the stuff! I love it. :)

My favourites would have to be as following, and I'm in high agreement with Chev about Fantasia alla Marcia for Piano, Chorus and Orchestra; it's such a beautiful piece. These are some of my favourites (I'll post them in spoilers because there's quite a few!).

Re: The Official Kingdom Hearts Music Discssion Thread

If this is the official thread, should probably add this to the op:

YouTube - KHComplete's Channel

Good for reference. Has the songs from all games (including the FMs), and a few extras, including Drammatica and Piano Collection.

Thanks for the link, added it in now :3
I'm going to give some of these a listen.

Don't know, but I think it's fan-made, no officially announcements of an orchestral arrangement has been made yet.
