Re: Mother (series)

i didn't have that issue when i played the rom.

seriously where are you people getting these things XD

Apparently it's real problem, but I was able to circumvent it by altering some settings in my emulator. I don't remember exactly what though.

Anyway I've only actually beaten mother 3. Easily one of the best RPG's of all time. I've gotten reasonably far into Earthbound but never actually beat it

Re: Mother (series)

One of those series for me that I have always wanted to get more experience playing; unfortunately, all I ever did was do a bit of Earthbound.

Re: Mother (series)

Just finished Mother 3.

A very good game that I would recommend to any fan of RPGs.

That being said, I found it to be kind of underwhelming, all things considered.

EDIT: On a side note, the fan project seems kind of interesting.

That tends to be what draws you in. It's just so odd that you stick around just to see how much weirder it's gonna get. Then it grows on you.

I just got to Chapter 7 in Mother 3, and tbh, so far, I thought it would be more depressing. Don't get me wrong. I won't spoil it, but Chapter 1 was extremely depressing, and I understood why people could cry over the game, but so far, nothing to that extreme has happened since then and it's been very light-hearted much like EarthBound.

Based on the events of Chapter 4, I get why people have said that one of its main motifs is the hypnotic effect of consumerism. I thought that was such an awesome topic to be brought up in a video game, but the plot point on which it's based also hasn't been brought up since then. Every chapter seems kinda disjointed to some extent, like the game can't figure out what mood it's trying to create. That's my one real complaint, but I'll withhold my full opinion until I finish it.
