This sounds like a portable Chamber of Waking. We still never got an explanation for it. The only thing we know is that it appears once you transform the Land of Departure into a labyrinth in order to protect it from outsides, and that it somehow has a connection to Scala ad Caelum, seeing as how Master Eraqus is a Blueblood, and he is tied to the Keyblade Wielders of the past/Scala. Perhaps the Box is the first iteration of the Chamber? Or maybe it was part of the stuff he witnessed through the Gazing Eye and decided to replicate?


Interesting. I feel like the expansion of the Replica Program in KINGDOM HEARTS III could be a plot element to be reutilized in the future?


So RepliAva is essentially this saga's Lingering Will? It makes you wonder how she has survived all these years. Perhaps she imitated Luxu's vessel hopping?


I feel like the MoM will make a sixth Union and make Luxu its leader. Or maybe be captain of the MoM's guards.


Yes. I feel like Scala's introduction, and the experiment of fighting various enemies at the same time, could be a trial version of what's to come in the future: a true Keyblade War. But I wonder what his ultimate plan is? How is he going to stop the endless cycle? Is he perhaps experimenting with the Foretellers in creating a group of citizens that are loyal to his ideology? Perhaps his plan has been to nurture an entire society, empty the present world, and insert them there?

I would assume most things the MoM did were by copying and replicating what he saw in the future, he probably only was able to create Keyblades because he had knowledge of it from the future. In fact one has to wonder how long he's been having visions of the future, has he been seeing the future ever since he was a sprout? Haunted endlessly by places and people who have yet to exist for his whole life, never knowing where these visions came from until he saw a vision of him making the gazing eye? Also it's just an eye so can he only see things and not hear them? If so his omniscience suddenly becomes a lot less impressive unless he learns to read lips.

I'm not sure she would be surviving for a long time, if my assumption on how the drawback to using the power of waking to cross wordlines works is correct. She is just floating through time and space, having blinked far into the future of another worldline.

My thought is his first plan for Luxu is he's going to remove the gazing eye from No Name and put it into Luxu as a "gift" for Luxu's service and sacrifice that ultimate cost him an eye.

I'm not sure he is trying to nurture and empty society, I think he's planning on doing what Xehanort did but on a totally grander level. Xehanort wanted to destroy the world so he could remake it and guide it. The MoM knows things are bigger than this world, my guess is he wants to destroy reality its entirety then rewrite it so the destiny of destruction no longer exists. But I like the idea that the multiple group boss fight thing is more or less prepping us for a proper war down the line.

Anyway last night I decided to knuckle down and look over every single clue and this theory here in this tag below is the accumulation of what I believe the box truly contains.

The previous major game was BBS and it had two instances of plots involving boxes containing hearts and/or light, with a third case of MX's lie about imprisoning the light to safeguard it. He also gave another lie about trying to contain the darkness that was Vanitas when he first emerged.In KH3 they use the term box several times in the reports and in-game in regards to the heart. Saying that there are three hearts inside of Sora that are "boxes" within his own. They also have a case of Pandora's box which while misdirection was said to contain hope and if you know the story it basically contained an emotion/concept, something we could consider a piece of a heart. Likewise we have ANOTHER case of a box with a heart in it in Pirates, the box that held Davy Jone's heart. Three times start to form a pattern as they say.

On top of that now there is a being called "Darkness" running around in the Dandelion world that is heavily implied to be there because the Master placed them there to carry out a plan. So if there is a being called Darkness he may have created or employed does it not stand to reason that there should be a counterpart to it, afterall how do you have darkness without light. I also speculate now that Darkness was a secret apprentice of the MoM, because his apprentice set up echoes Ansem the Wise and KH3 revealed to use Ansem the Wise had 8 apprentices and that Lea and Isa were the 2 apprentices we didn't know were apprentices. So going by that I speculate this is our clue the MoM had two more apprentices...but who were they?

My answer is that his two apprentices, the ones the others didn't know about, were "Darkness" and "Light". Of course I'll go a step further in that these aren't two different people, they are two halves of the same person and the reverse of Ventus. The MoM had a seventh apprentice and he ripped out all the light of their heart to create a heart of pure light. The body remained with a heart of pure darkness inside it, this being was named "Darkness" and was tasked with their own role to carry out in the dandelion world. As for the new heart of light, this heart was named "Light" and this heart was immediately contained within that box to protect it. Unifying all the potential clues Nomura has been dropping over these last couple of games.

Okay, this is my theory as to what the MoM's plan is:

The MoM gave Luxu a task:
To observe.

Said observations are to be recorded through a tool:
The No Name Keyblade, which bears the Master's all gazing Eye.

The purpose of the Eye is to see events that are unraveling in the present time of the KINGDOM HEARTS Universe, and are the future for the Master's era: the KINGDOM HEARTS x era.

This is where the Black Box comes into play:
The Black Box, as Maleficent realized, did not exist yet. But, what does this mean? This means that Luxu did something to the Box the last time he had, and since he is very obedient towards the Master's plan, then it means that, whatever he did, it was on the Master's orders. Now, when was the last time we saw the Box? Yep, in 0.2's intro: Luxu was in front of Kingdom Hearts with the Box. Now, after that, when do we see the Black Box again? Yep: after Sora closes Kingdom Hearts.

It is my belief that the MoM told Luxu to throw the Box inside of Kingdom Hearts, and retrieve at a time that another Keyblade War would come to passing: which is Xehanort's war.

But for what purpose?

According to Maleficent, the Black Box carries the Book of Prophecies, a book that can record and recreate worlds from the future. This is where the thing gets interesting: I think the MoM threw the Book inside Kingdom Hearts in order to record the entirety of Kingdom Hearts, and have a book counterpart to Kingdom Hearts itself.

A small notice:

Up until now, the villains of KINGDOM HEARTS have wanted to get Kingdom Hearts in their hands. Maleficent, Ansem, Xemnas, and Master Xehanort.

You know what's different to getting Kingdom Hearts? Yep: replicating it.

The MoM's ultimate goal is to replicate Kingdom Hearts, and if you look at it even more, to have two Kingdom Hearts. But why? Why would he want two Kingdom Hearts?

This is speculation, but I think that the MoM's end goal is to have an opposing force to Kingdom Hearts' Light: a Kingdom Hearts of Darkness. Perhaps he thinks that, if the Darkness had a Kingdom Hearts of its own, it could neutralize the Darknesss in the Universe, and that way it wouldn't crave for the light. The MoM would utilize a natural solution to a natural phenomena.

Another possible explanation as to why the MoM would want to create another Kingdom Hearts is that, instead of waiting for another Keyblade War to happen, humans can have their light of Kingdom Hearts back without the need of fighting once more.

Or he simply recorded Kingdom Hearts and, since KH is the collection of ALL hearts, and all hearts have chains of memories, perhaps he plans to record every single memory in existence in the book in order to have all the knowledge of the universe in the palm of his hands.

I always assumed that the deal with the MoM's eye was to simply see what happens so he can keep record of it in the Book. The Book existence is proof that Luxu traveled the world and the Master's Eye saw everything and he could transcribe it into the Book. The MoM didn't give Luxu a copy of the Book to avoid Luxu causing temporal paradoxes. Luxu just needed to travel the world, eventually pass the Keyblade on to an apprentice, and him to another one, and so on, so that the future would keep being recorded in the Book. Luxu did this, but he also transfered his heart to body after body in order to keep living and watch over the Keyblade.

Throwing the Book at something doesn't make that thing appear in the Book. It's the MoM that sees the events and record them in the Book, so I don't really think that throwing the Book at Kingdom Hearts would make a replica of it. Besides, a man-made Kingdom Hearts already existed, and I also don't think that it's possible to have a Kingdom Hearts of darkness. KH is light, end of story.

I presume the Gazing Eye is just a cool name, but it also records all other senses.

Hmm... This constant talk about "one sky" sorta makes me think that there's a realm somewhere out there that is above every Worldline. Perhaps this is where the MoM shall ascend once he obtains the power to shape reality to his fitting? I'm getting FINAL FANTASY XV vibes here. Noctis Lucis Caelum had to die in order to collect powerful enough to kill the villain in the afterlife. What if the Master of Masters will acquire Kingdom Hearts' power, die, and enter the Final World, and from there, get rid of the cyclic nature of destruction?

I do agree that luxu locked the box inside kh, however i dont think the BoP is inside it. The BoP cant write itself, someone needs to write in it, more specifically the MoM. He uses the No Name key with his eye in it and is able to see what it sees, whether present or future. Therefore, he cant record kh without someone writing it down for him in there. I personally think a body is in the box. The box has been shown to be heavy, so a kid or someone can be inside of there. When Ventus' heart was damaged after Xehanort split him in half, his body was still able to breathe and such without food or water, so the possibility of a sleeping body in the box isnt too far off. Who's body it could be? I havent gotten the slightest clue.

This sounds like Hirokey's proposal. But Nomura said something in the Ultimania that picqued my interest: he was asked that Maleficent thinks that the BoP is in the Box, to which he replied that he'll cover the aspect as to why she thinks that soon. Maybe someone led her to believe that?
