A Collection of Poems by Lycian Wolfe
They are listed in the order that they were written. My personal favorite would have to be "Falling Rain". It also is slightly happier than the others.
More poems are to be added as time goes on, but these are the three original ones.
Enjoy.
~"Black Rose" ~
A Black Rose, lying on the table
Whose memory did it hold?
None will know of the pain, the lives it held, only a fable. . .
The truth of death and memories; every word left untold
Who remembered them? Who still does?
Joys long lost, hopes long forgotten. . .
Everything left in shadows, in the eyes of lost loves,
And it seems the skies will darken.
A cross, standing beside the way.
I wonder who lied fitful there, dead among the rubble.
Who did they call 'love', only to find Hell to pay?
A lover's words, standing beside the grave, mumbled.
It comes to show what all will lead to,
In this game we call a life.
What will become of us, of you?
Heaven or Hell, what's left behind - a loved one's strife?
What will matter - in the end? . . .
~"Anymore" ~
I block everything out that once came,
from the depths of my heart I shut it away
to lock away the pain that’s all the same.
Whatever life may be for,
It doesn’t matter anymore.
Looking for help on the lonely road I shout,
To help me kill the pain forevermore,
To help me kill myself from the inside out.
Whatever love may be for,
It doesn’t matter anymore.
My heart wanders forever without rest,
the great hurt I feel under my cold chest
No one can see the pain hidden behind these blue eyes.
Hell itself it seems can’t change my fate now
Nothing matters anymore.
Shall I ever find peace and rest? Oh, but how . . .
~"Falling Rain" ~
Soft moonlight shines through the windowpanes,
and from the darkness I hear
the dull and rhythmic beating of rain.
Though light may shine on my black heart,
I still feel the pain you gave me
since long ago I tore myself apart.
To my soul, only the rain holds the key.
Dead on the inside I am,
though long ago you revived me.
My tears are invisible in this endless night,
they drop to the earth as fallen memories.
I remember nothing but the former light.
Joining the origin of rain in the skies,
majestic wings I adourn.
Away from the pain, I fly and rise.
~"Angels Fall" ~
Angels fall headfirst from Grace
The darkness in their hearts balances the light
Falling forever, in a neverending chase
Tattered wings, hopes of may or might.
I know your true intentions
In the lost memories I see
You have only seen in two dimensions
Images of Angels are now before me.
As long as you've lived, you've become numb to pain
Long ago, your light ceased to shine.
But the life that floods your heart, it's not the same.
In no way is your heart as black as mine.
Your dreams were killed, now you murder others
The weight of their pain is held on your shoulders
But redemption comes to the many mothers
Of healers and saints in the light of time.
If I had a choice, I would give it all away
I would choose to forget, and never return.
But I could not, will not, may.
For then, I would not learn
And I would forget of the love you gave me,
And you, my love, complete me.

~"Forever"~
I'll unlock your thoughts and feelings
That you hid from the world
At last, you will separate the madness from the meanings.
From the dark to the light you see
Demons with grins on their faces
And Angels wearing graceful halos, so unlike me.
Without pain, pleasure means nothing
And without hatred, none would feel love
In the ocean formed from rain, you feel something.
I am drowning in a sea of stripes
Black and white surround me,
But there is more to life than the blackened scythes.
We will walk into the darkness together,
Into nothingness, the Reaper I will not fear,
As long as you are there beside me, forever.
