lol thats okay myth ^^

okay since i'm going away for the next few days, I didn't want to leave without posting chapter 7 (too long of a wait). so here's chapter 7 and i hope everyone enjoys ^^

Chapter 7: The Traitor amongst us

“You’re leaving so soon? You just got here!” Jack said.

“We need to; that person you saw was part of some organization that’s trying to mess with our heads. We have to find them,” Sora said.

“Can’t you just stay for the Halloween festivities?”

“I wish we could,” Jess began, “but there are other worlds out there that could be in danger.”

“If anything should happen, give us a call,” Riku said. “We’ll come back as fast as we can.”

“Sure thing,” Jack said.

The gang boarded the ship and blasted off out of Halloween Town, unsure of where to go next.

The man returned to the room where the others were sitting in. He seemed to cool down now, though his expression still showed signs of anger.

“Where’s Seethe?” he demanded.

“Dunno,” Venla said. “He left about ten minutes ago.”

The door slammed open and Seethe walked in dragging someone by the collar. “I found this guy snooping around the hallways. Want me to waste him?”

The spy broke free of Seethe’s grip and straightened himself up.

“What business do you have here?” the man asked.

“I am nothing but a traveler, sir. I left my world seeking a person who could help defend it. You see, it is in danger of being taken over by our enemies, the White Knights,” the man started to explain.

“Enough.” The leader stared at the man’s orange eyes. “What exactly are you to this world of yours?”

“I am a servant of our Lord. If he should ever fall, I will become King. It is my duty to serve the King as requested, sir,” the spy said.

The man continued to look at the stranger and a smile broke out on his face. “You said that if your King shall fall, you would take his place?”

“Yes, sir.”

The smile grew larger on the man’s face. “You don’t have to worry about getting rid of this man, Seethe. I have an idea.”

~*~

“What world is that down there?” Kairi pointed.

It was a rather large world, covered in green grass and lakes. Sora didn’t recognize it, but insisted that they should check it out just in case. The ship landed in a thick forest and as they got out, sounds of trumpets could be heard in the distance.

They walked out of the forest and saw a large group of people standing in front of a stone castle. Looking at the appearances of the crowd, Sora had a feeling that this was sometime in the past…

“What is this? Medival Times?” Riku asked.

“Sure looks it,” Jess said. “This is so cool!”

A loud, booming voice came from a balcony on the castle and after a while the crowd cheered and the trumpets sounded again.

The crowd started to move away from the castle and back to do their normal chores. Sora looked up at the castle and saw a man looking down with a crown on his head. “There’s a King!”

“Should we tell him about the heartless?” Kairi asked.

They ran towards the castle and walked inside. The King was now sitting on his throne talking to a man who held a piece of parchment paper.

“Excuse me, your Highness?” Sora piped up.

The King turned and looked at the gang. “How may I be of assistance?”

“We are here to warn you, Sir, about a danger that threatens your world,” Sora began.

“Yes, yes, the White Knights. They are beginning to start a war here, but we will fight back to the death!” the King shouted.

“White Knights?” Jess whispered.
“Uhm, that’s not the danger we were referring to,” Riku said. “We are talking about the heartless.”

“Heartless? There are no such things as heartless,” the King laughed.

“Sir, please hear us out. We have been victims to the heartless. You may be next,” Sora said.

~*~

“As if the White Knights weren’t enough, now this is threatening us!” the King said.

“My Lord, what shall we do when this does occur?” the servant asked.

“You say there is no known way of defeating this monster, yes?”

“None that we know of, Sir. We’ve tried but it’s just too strong,” Sora said.

“Fighting back is useless, then. Our men are strong, but not strong enough.” The King sat in silence for a long moment.

The door burst open and walked in a man with short silver hair; he wore long robes that dragged against the floor. The man had a scar on his face that went across his eye, but he was still able to see through it perfectly.

“Ah, James! Come hither, these travelers here tell us of another danger that is upon us,” the King said.

James strode to the King’s side and studied each of them with his orange eyes. He then brought his gaze to Sora and he stared at him. “My Lord, you are going to believe something these children are telling you?” he sneered.

“Children?” the gang said.

“They have witnessed these attacks, James,” the King said.

“Do they have any proof?”

“Well, no. But I believe them and that’s all that matters.”

“Hmph.” James still continued to stare at Sora. “And you didn’t fight back?”

“We tried,” Sora said. He then summoned his Keyblade and stared at it. “Not even this could stop them…”

James took a step back and looked at Sora’s Keyblade. “That weapon…how powerful is it?”
“It’s pretty powerful,” Sora said. He looked at James confused. “Why do you ask?”

James snapped out of his trance and started to walk out of the room. “No reason,” he said quickly, and he was gone.

They all stared after James in confusion.

“Don’t mind James. Time’s are hard these days; too much pressure,” the King smiled.

~*~

The image of Sora’s Keyblade stuck in James’s mind; he couldn’t shake it off.

“That thing…it could stop the White Knights. One powerful shot and all of them fall dead,” James said to himself.

“Why use it against the White Knights? Aren’t you here to take down the King?” a voice whispered.

“Yes, but—’’

James felt something slither up his back, but he made no movements of surprise whatsoever. He looked down on his shoulder and saw a snake made of ice rest his head.

“Take it,” the snake whispered. “Use it to kill the King. Then you will have the throne to yourself.”

“And how will I be able to run the world while I’m in prison?” James snapped.

“Stage the death!” another voice whispered.

A scorpion crawled up onto his other shoulder; it too was made of ice.

“It belongs to that child, doesn’t it? Convince the people of Cortal that he did it and you will be seen as a hero,” a third voice whispered. A bat made of ice flew down next to James and flapped its wings.

James thought for a moment, then his orange eyes grew wider. “Yes…that could work. Then I will be King of Cortal, and all shall perish!” James laughed.

What’s coming up in Chapter 8: James is planning an attack against the King, and with the war of the White Knights approaching, Cortal can’t afford loosing it’s King. The war begins, and guess who’s dragged into it…
