No, an STD is spread through having unprotected sex with a single infected partner. This is why it's so important to check with potential partners that they've been tested for STDs.- Near 0% chance of STD's, this ALONE is worth it, considering most are un-curable. STD's are spread through carelessly having sex with multiple partners.
Sodomy itself does not have an increased chance of infection. The issue is that people are less likely to use condoms when engaging in sodomy since there is no risk of pregnancy - that is what makes it statistically more dangerous. Protected anal sex is no more dangerous than protected vaginal sex.Sodomy(anal sex) has an increased chance of infection.
Condoms, with proper use, have a success rate is about 98%. Contraceptives, with proper use, have a success rate of about 99.7%. This means that the chance of conception between a male and female where the former uses a condom and the latter is on the Pill is 0.006% - that's less than a one in 10,000 chance. Have you looked up the statistical risks of getting into a car, lately? How often do you drive to work?I'd be rather surprised to see anyone who can sincerely say "no, despite those possible consequences(consequences that exist with or without a condom(which is breakable and not made of titanium), it's better to have sex with multiple partners".
This statement reflects more on the company you keep than on the behaviour of men.(men usually don't talk maturely about sex its just ARRROOOOO*wolfhowl* from us most of the time)
Baaaaack on topic though, I had a long discussion with a friend today about the frustrating hangups Americans seem to have about sex. I don't know if this is only true of Americans who live in foreign countries, but we've both had very frustrating experiences with Americans who are reluctant to have sex until a LONG way into a relationship. Personally I think sex is part of getting to know a partner, not something to engage in only after you've been super-close for months and months and months. I'm not generally willing to wait that long.
