After Sora arrived in TWTNW, Young Xehanort put him into a sleep and entered Sora's dream, then placed Sora into a "second sleep" (Around the time he starts flashing back about Traverse Town). Afterwards, his actual body was placed in the Castle at the meeting room (Where Nothing Gathers). During Sora's two fold nightmare, Spirit!Riku was trying to wake him up from inside his first layer of dreams (Sora's TWTNW), ony to fail as Sora's heart plunges into the Abyss for chasing the dreams too far. He then fights and defeats Ansem and he ends up in Real TWTNW.
